Very relaxing, beautiful beach great snorkeling, right off the beach.

The beach was beautiful snorkeling right off the beach. Food was ok rooms were clean. Service was very slow. Monica at the bar in lobby was great she was friendly. And made the best drinks in the place.

Stayed at Sunscape Feb 2-9, 2018. Paid for Sun Club. Stayed in the Flamingo Building. Beautiful ocean view room with a balcony. Room was being cleaned when we got there, so we went for a drink and it was ready shortly after. Room was cleaned well every day. Breakfast and Lunch buffets were good and we could always find something, but was not outstanding. Unorganized chaos from servers at the buffet. Slowed service considerably. Had good dinners at the steakhouse (great Filet Mignon)and Seafood Restaurants. Bar areas were lacking. No big social area to gather at. No swim up service at all. Good live musicians in the evening. The most outstanding staff member hands down was Kenneth at the Sun Club bar. Made me great Blue Hawaiian’s! He is a very kind, humble, professional bartender who was a joy to chat with every day. He did his utmost to make everyone happy, even vacationers who were rude to him, which I witnessed unfortunately. Truly a lovely gentleman. Most outstanding feature of this resort is the snorkelling. The Break-wall allows for calm water and an excellent variety of sea life! Mambo Beach is a five minute walk away for quaint shopping and nice restaurants. Will most likely return some day as we felt very safe on the island, which is sadly becoming hard to find these days.

I went to this resort in July with my mom for her Birthday. We loved it! The staff was amazing and very Attentive. The food was some of the best I've had at an AI resort. They even had authentic native food which most AIs don't. The Italian restaurant was our least favorite. I enjoyed the show at the Japanese restaurant. Bluewater grill is amazing for great views and good food. The seafood restaurant offered the best meal an entire fried red snapper on the beach! There is no disco so that's a downside I was a bit bored at night. Curacao is such a beautiful country we left the resort and went into town several times and we were always safe. The pools are nice but we are beach lovers. You need water shoes for the beach it's a bit rocky. Its not a 5 star luxury resort, yet we were treated very well. I'm hoping to go back soon!

We returned to Sunscape after 5 years to see how the renovations that were started during our last visit turned out. We had problems from the start. Sunquest holidays did not have anyone at the airport to take us to the hotel so we had to find our own way. At the hotel were got our room but even though they had a note on our reservation about my breathing issues, we were put on the third floor with no elevator. They did move us to a new room 2 days later.
The resort was quite nice, room was somewhat updated and very clean. The food at all the restaurants was excellent. You did have to line up for the a la carte ones if you wanted first sitting. The beach was great but even at 6:30am you could not get a lounge chair in the shade. Many of the ones that were taken we noticed were not even used until later in the day when the dive boat came back in. This was our biggest disappointment. The bars were very good and never to busy. The one in the Sun Club area looked after by Kenneth was excellent. All in all not a bad get away but I am not sure if I would go back.

Room Tip: Sun Club area is nice and quiet

All in all this trip was a very pleasant distraction from the wintry blasts we get in Canada. The people at the resort are very friendly and jump to make your stay
the best they can. We stayed at the SunClub which was nice but get up at least by 5am if you want beach chairs. Crazy. The food was very good particularly the steaks. One of the highlights of the SunClub section was meeting the world famous poolside bartender "Kenneth". He was always smiling, chatting and making you feel so welcome. Every resort should have at least one Kenneth. Snorkeling right of the beach is the best we've ever had. There's a breaker ocean wall that keeps the big waves out and makes the snorkeling world class. The resort has been around for a long time and it has a nice comfortable Caribbean feeling. Would we come back? Most definitely.

Room Tip: Oceanview higher floors definitely recommended. Only the 5 Story building has an elevator so if you have week knees choose wisely.
