We went to see the aquarium and came out very upset! When we came in we saw very small pool for the turtles( there were 5 big turtle, and it's not big enough for them- like a children's pool ) . The tank windows were so dirty  it was very  hard to see the animals ( they show you on the website a nice tunnel, but in real life it is very short , dirty and it's hard to see anything). To make things worse, the water is not clean, fool of fruits leftovers And it didn't seem like they care.
There is  one stingray, not swimming, just stending still.
The worst part was to see the mantis  ( sea cow). The water where filthy!!!!!  We have been to a
Other aquariums  around the world, so we know haw it is should be look like. This place looks like an easy way to make money, with zero effort. I am strongly advice you not to support this place until they will change their policy.

Many of the tanks were empty. We were some of the only guests there. The only cool thing was the tunnel going under one large tank but it was pretty short. We got a lot of mosquito bites, so wear repellant. The view of the ocean and the city to the west was cool. Otherwise the $4USD or 187.5 pesos we spent on tickets didn't seem worth it. If you have time to waste then check out out. If not, skip it. It was also hard to get a taxi or uber because their WiFi was extremely poor.

A nice alternative for the kids. On our visit we found a large variety of fish as well as two Manatees, Sea Turtles and a few Nurse Sharks. The waters surrounding the area were the bluest I'd seen during any of my visits to the DR.
There were also a few iguana running around as well as crabs. The overall visit was nice, plenty of sun and an refreshing breeze coming off the edge.
The kids can enjoy a large play area with all types of outdoor rides and in our case they preferred being outside than inside viewing the fish. Then entire area was cleaned and well maintained even with the large crowd.
We took a taxi so I am not sure about parking and there was a fee to enter but I do not recall the cost.

As a couple (no kids) we enjoyed an hour here. Some fun fishes and small sharks, but we felt pretty bad about the way too small aquariums they have to live in. The park attached to it (including playground) is a great place for a picknick with kids (lots of shade).
Entrance is cheap ($ 4 for tourists, much less for locals).

Has a good variety of species, including sharks, and some interesting fishes. Need more signals and maintenance. Viist if you have free time, not on the top list.
