Feel obliged to say how amazing our honeymoon was after reading some of the reviews on here before we went,
It was literally perfect I would recommend to anyone,

We stayed in honeymoon suite 2319 – the room was in between the main pool and a quieter pool with beach and sea view off both balconies, there was a beach bar by both of them pools and the main pool bar right close as well so perfectly located, the room itself was perfect, I had emailed prior to going asking to have a honeymoon suite with the upstairs jacuzzi as me and my partner loved the idea and look of this room and they sorted this for us, we could literally see the sea and beach sitting in the jacuzzi, we had a king bed and bottle of rum and cigars in the room for us when we walked in, robes and slippers were in there for us both too. The mini fridge was re stocked every single day with branded pop and local beers and water, the towels were changed every day too including pool towels which you normally have to go to the hut for. I must admit we spoke to others who were having problems with their rooms but this honeymoon suite was incredible, the only one small niggle I could think of would be the water pressure in the shower was very poor, if you put the tap even slightly towards warm it would slow down so much it was pretty much impossible to use, BUT we had no problems with the water for the jacuzzi which we used every single day so it was no problem to have a wash in there after a nice chill before dinner.

Upon arrival we were given a welcome drink and given our complimentary vouchers for the 2 exclusive restaurants (usually 35usd per person) and vouchers for the spa, we were given red wristbands which we didn’t know at the time but later found out to represent couples on honeymoon, which we thought was a great idea because of some of the staff recognised this and said congratulations too us and even bought us some champagne at dinner over, even some of the other guests actually noticed this and said congratulations too us which was really nice, we did have to pay for the safe I think it was about 30usd for the 2 weeks but we really didn’t mind this after being given the spa/restaurant vouchers. we had the romantic massage and it was really nice, definitely worth a visit to the spa, very clean and professional in there.

Considering it was October/November the weather was amazing, throughout the 2 weeks there was just a couple of hours of rain, 1-2 cloudy days and the rest absolutely beautiful, the grounds and pool area were kept really clean and the hotel did make a huge effort to keep the beach tidy and maintain the sea weed that so many people moan about, there was literally a tractor every night getting up as much as possible, not sure what more people can expect … the staff were all very friendly, some of them spoke very limited English and often got drinks slightly wrong but the ones who did speak better English soon picked up what we wanted and sorted us out, we would like to say a special thanks to Luka who worked mainly between the lobby bar and sereneta bar, he helped and sorted us every single night - after a few days of us arriving he would see us coming to the bar and our drinks would be ready for when we had got there, the cleaners always said hello and we had a good laugh with ‘brown’ at the beach bar next to ridizzio too, also the maintenance men worked all day to make sure the grounds were immaculate and even when they were collecting and cutting down the coconuts they would cut them open and hand them out to people at the pool.

The food we thought was spot on, the main buffet was always really nice plenty of choice and always managed to get a table and drinks brought over without any problems, the speciality restaurants were even better, we went to the Italian, and the Brazilian which were both really nice, and we used our vouchers to go to ‘la cava’ which was our favourite of the restaurants, really quiet and romantic in there and the food was beautiful, we also did the ‘romantic dinner on the beach’, I would highly recommend this to any couple going, it was such a nice and different experience, sometimes there can be 2/3x set up on the beach but we luckily were the only ones on the night we had it, you get a 3 course meal + appetisers and coffee afterwards, we had 2 bottles of champagne plus wine and beer throughout, the food was beautiful and the way they set out the lightings and table was so special, the waitress was really friendly and even went to grab a group of musicians from the sea food restaurant to come play a song just to us before we had our last course, sorry we cannot remember her name but she defiantly deserves a mention for making this night so special for us

The reps at the pool selling excursions were all very friendly said hello every day, the first couple of days they were a bit pushy if you didn’t book straight away with them but we held out and actually ended up using another company anyway but they still spoke to us and offered to help if we needed anything, there was only one small thing we didn’t really like throughout our stay - it did only happen twice across the 2 weeks, but the hotel would let in locals to set up stalls by the main pool and buffet of a night time, selling typical souvenirs etc, we had no issue with this at all and would of in fact quite enjoyed having a look if possible, but they hassle you so so much when you are walking past it is actually really frustrating, they will spot you coming a mile off and literally sprint at you and drag you there, and they are all around the main buffet area so you cannot avoid them, they weren’t rude or anything and were actually really nice people just trying to make some money which we fully understand but in our opinion when your in your hotel grounds you shouldn’t have to worry about being jumped on like this, they would make so much more money if they allowed people to look at their own will and didn’t force items into their hands

The animation team were amazing, all of them but especially Jeri – we have no idea how we has so much energy every single day, he literally dances full on from 10am by the pool till 1-2am in the on site club, the night time shows were mainly dance shows done by the animation team and a few extra professional dancers, they are so good though we enjoyed it every single night, they made a real big effort for Halloween and this was probably our favourite show and night at the hotel, there was also a foam party the first week in the day time at the pool which was great and a beach party scheduled for our last night but unfortunately it rained for an hour or so right as was about to start so it got cancelled, the swim up pool bar had been damaged before we got there I think from the hurricaine so this wasn’t open but they did start repairs on it towards the end of our stay so I would think it will reopen soon, the hotel did set up another bar right by the pool though instead which was good saves having to work to the beach bar, there was a beach bbq in our second week and this was really nice the chicken and meats were beautiful, the snack bar is open pretty much all day and again the foods in there were really nice

There is a small club on site called ‘arieto disco’ some people didn’t even know it was there but its definitly worth going for a few drinks after the night time show, drinks are included between 11-12, there is a mix of English and foreign songs but definitely worth a visit, there is a train running from the lobby to the pools/rooms area every 10 minutes or so but walking it only takes 10 minutes or so and its beautiful through the mangroves and there are hundreds of birds and turtles on the way.

Overall we would highly recommend, we had a perfect honeymoon, we would 100% return maybe for one of our future anniversaries as they love a celebration in the lobby,
We booked our excusrions though BD (best day travel) in reception, we did adventure buggies, zip line and monkey forest combo, and helicopter tour, all were amazing would recommend them and as said earlier would HIGHLY recommend romantic dinner on the beach

Thanks to all staff for making it so special

Got back yesterday from here. Had an absolutely lovely time. Not sure why there is so many poor reviews. Yes it is a little tired but there is nothing wrong with it at all. Our room was clean and tidy, fridge fully restocked everyday. Pools were lovely, could always get a sun lounger. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet was fine, could always find something to eat. A La Carte restaurants are great especially Rodizzio. Lots of lovely wildlife in the resort. No complaints at all and would definitely return.

this is our 3rd trip to stay in the princess hotels. we were there Sept 17th thru Oct 12.
we enjoy this resort staff so friendly and several remember my husband and I. we had an adventure this trip we hurricane Maria visited us on Sept 20th. the resort was well organized for preparation for the hurricane they moved all to the 3rd floor rooms. 5 -6 people per room. it was a long night with the noise of the wind and roofs banging. we were blessed only damage to some roofs trees limbs on the beach. swim up bar was crashed in the pool. no one was hurt the next day the staff mafe sure everyone had food. they were cleaning up in the rain. working long hours. the staff always had a smile on their face. our room was on the 1st floor no storm surge. so we were all lucky compared to Puerto Rico. we had a few rainy days but we enjoyed the rest of our vacation. we will go again in 2018.

We stayed at this resort this week, air conditioning didn’t work, the ala Carter dinners were fully booked for the days we stayed there so we had the buffet the entire time we were there. The breakfast egg station was good however other than that the rest was left overs from dinner the night before, toilets by pool were a disgrace, doors breaking down, no bottled water to be found except 3 in our room per day for two adults. This sounds snobby but we were advised to not drink anything that wasn’t in a sealed bottle by the staff who brought our bags to our room and therefore would pay for bottled water as this ‘was not included’ neither was the seafood restaurant or the surf and turf... oh and better have your $ ready if you don’t order a standard drink, some drinks are extra too. Now here comes the best bit. We were told by the staff who brought our bags that he could do me a deal on the safe, $20 through him instead of $20 to the hotel. I said no thank you. Our friends staying here were not told this so I imagine he was trying to get some extra money. Pathways at night are dark and frankly I did not feel safe walking the resort at night time.
The staff were friendly at the front desk as was one man at the buffet, till he found out we didn’t want a time share then he was done talking to us.
