We've visited St. George's, Grenada on many occasions, however, while walking along during our recent visit in Ferbruary 2017, I was looking into store windows and was drawn to Art Fabrik. The shop is lovely, containing batik items and uniquely crafted items.
Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff on the main level and then invited to go upstairs to observe their batik process of applying wax to the fabrik. There we met both owners and while chatting, discovered one had lived in Huntington Beach close to our home in California.
We were then invited to go outside into a courtyard area were we further observed the batik process of fabrik dying.
I considered this experience to be an "Unexpected Treat" because had I simply looked straight ahead while walking en route to our intended destination, I would have missed Art Batik. It was a pleasently refreshing time.
Looking forward to visiting again during our next trip to St. George's.
