Had a great stay, very relaxing. If you love windsurfing, this really is the place: we were a short walk from the windsurfing shack, run by Jose, previous world windsurfing speed record holder. There was always a brisk wind, and he had an awesome assortment of gear which he readily loaned out at a reasonable price. The lagoon appears shallow and muddy at first, but once out on the crystal blue water it is a dream.
Very French - pastries and baguettes for breakfast, and cafes ring the marina. Be prepared to practice your French. Supermarket is walking distance.
Scuba-diving leaves from the marina, two minutes away - but the best diving is a 45 min boat ride (or the other side of the island).
Need to rent a car to see the sites - but the hotel can organize your shuttle pickup or dropoff to the airport, and there are lots of local car rentals in St. Francois.
No pool. Air conditioning from 6pm to 8am in bedroom.
Would do it again for the windsurfing and taste of France.More
