We rate 4 stars because:

Pros:
friendly staff - went out of their way to help us and coordinate via email in advance. Martine, Veronique and her husband were great.
Overlooking water and you can see fish .
Clean
Good location
Good value for price point

Cons:
can't reach them by phone
Bathroom of our suite was on the 2nd fl which was problematic for my elderly father
There was a leak because the water overflowed from the tub. We cleaned it up but it was messy.

We loved our stay in Guadalupe and enjoyed our time at Green Blue Houses.
The good: our 2 bedroom suite was a two story unit with amazing views from every window and balcony. The marina feels safe and is beautiful. Great kitchen and dining table on balcony great for some meals and games with family. Lots of sleeping space, we are two adults and two big teens and we would have been able to sleep two little kids more just fine. Well located, friendly staff, access to washer dryer for 11 euros and your time waiting there, access to electric grill if you ask. wifi.
The bad: the water went out for 24 hrs and the staff really did not communicate. They should have put a letter explaining under every door with an action plan on what to do about showers toilet flushing etc. one couple told us a staff member told them the water was out in the whole town, clearly not true. the mattresses are old and the pillows are older. You get one pillow per person and it is a bag of lint. I think we would have not noticed the old mattress if we had comfortable pillows. They would really benefit from just getting new pillows and being more generous with them. We stayed at a Sleep Inn in Miami on the way home and the 2 real pillows per person felt decadent after our week with the lint bags. Bring a pillow, bring or buy beach towels, all of your toiletries including soap shampoo lotion, hit the Hyper Casino (grocery store walking distance) and buy yourself coffee filters paper towels dish soap sugar salt (I have in the past remembered to bring sugar, salt and aspartame packets with me).
Tips:the beach Bois Jolen is a short drive and is the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. shallow and replescent with sea life , a safe place to snorkel and see beauty, locals take their kids to this lovely shallow water beach. Reserve your boat rides on day one or stay at a marina for a week and never go on a boat like we did. If you walk to the beach at the end of the dock on the same side of the dock as the hotel, you can rent kayaks and even get windsurf lessons very reasonably. Wish I hadn't discovered that the hour before leaving or we would have been there daily. Wear a swim suit everywhere when sightseeing as there are opportunities to take a dip everywhere even the mountain. Rent a car so you can see everything. Bring a French English dictionary as hardly anyone speaks English and the wifi for Google translator is spotty. Spotty wifi at hotel kids camped by the door of our unit to use wifi and we would sit in the lobby when we really needed to do something on the computer. Overall wonderful and we hope to return!

The building itself is designed to have the appearance of a ship with porthole windows and a roofline that slightly resembles a sail. Our room faced East to the entrance to the harbor so we sat and drank our morning coffee while watching the boats leave. Mesmerizing!
The location along the boardwalk was an ideal from which to wander and there were plenty of nice restaurants nearby.
You will need a car to visit the gorgeous beaches north of the resort.
The staff was friendly but a warning about Guadalope before you go! It's a French-speaking resort for folks from France and Canada so you may go the whole week without meeting a soul who speaks English! After a while it was exhausting trying our best to use our high school English to get by. So while we love the resort , the marina, etc, it was a challenge. (And we've traveled all over Europe and never felt so lost!!)
The other smaller warnings I would have for travelers are these:
1. First you are exhausted by the time you get there so try to arrive before dark as the hotel is very difficult to find. It's on a main road but set way back with no road sign so we went by it several times before we actually got out and walked to it! And asking directions there is so difficult since no one speaks English. Our nerves were frazzled!
2. Bring your own supplies. They did not provide the essentials we've gotten every where else, such as hand soap, shampoo, paper towels, coffee filters, etc! They reluctantly gave us a couple of hand soaps!
I hope you don't get discouraged though as you can have a wonderful time on this enchanting island if you take my warnings to heart!!

Room Tip: East side rooms are best for the view of the entrance to the harbor, the sunrise and the cool breeze.

We used our timeshare and had an amazing stay here. Our room was very nice and they cleaned it often throughout the week. We had a beautiful view of the harbour and the ocean. The only negitive, is the air is only on in the bedroom from 6 in the evening to 8 in the morning. Martin, the lady at the front desk was very nice and told us about an beautiful beach to go to. We do not speak french, but with a small french/english phrase book, we were able to get by. The location is perfect, you can walk to most restaurants and to the grocery store. The wifi is terrible, go to the restaurant downstairs.

Room Tip: Our room, had a balcony that faced both the marina and harbour entrance.

We stayed at Green Blue Houses for our third visit January 18-25, 2014. This small resort with 22 apartments is more like a European apartment complex than a timeshare. The building is designed to have the appearance of a ship with port hole windows and nautical decor. We stayed in a one bedroom unit #3 that had a view of the Marina and open sea. The apartment had a small living room, kitchen with cook top, microwave oven and dishwasher. The bedroom and bath were upstairs. Air conditioning operates in the bedroom from 6pm until 8am. Wi-Fi is available for 5 Euros per week. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Be sure to bring converters if traveling from the US or Canada. We absolutely love this place and will definitely return.
