I’ve been to Dunn’s river falls. Blue hole wins by mile. It’s the same thing. With way less people, way less commercialization, way more chill. And way more free time to do what you want. Jump off cliffs, swing off ropes, swim. You can’t do this at Dunn’s. You just climb up a waterfall with a million ppl. It’s great. I’d highly recommend going there with devroy dale (aka sunshine). He’s just a kind sole. Wonderful with children and epitomizes Jamaica at its best. He loves life and it shows and North Americans need to hang out with Guys like sunshine as much as possible. He is a true tour guide, not just a driver. If you pass something he tells you what’s up and makes it fun for the kids. We ate with him at Scotchies, real deal jerk chicken (a mix of locals and tourists), we went to his home. (We were passing by. I asked to see it. He said no problem.) He gave us a glimpse of real life in Jamaica and we’re so appreciative. Cut us up Water coconuts, shows us his dogs, chickens, tilapia that he raises for food. We loved it. We loved him. Hire this man! (He’s also cheaper than everyone else. 200 bucks for a whole day 6 people. Scotches wasn’t expected. His house wasn’t expected. We thought we were just going to blue hole from Royalton hotel but it turned out as a full day of awesomeness. What a delight. He made our trip. His number is +1 (876) 432-1785 (WhatsApp).
At the blue hole. You will get a guide. There’s no charge. Best to tip 10-30 bucks depending on how much you like them.
