“Incredible place to stay if visiting San Juan, and want to experience the best of the city.”
Reviewed 6 July 2017 for a stay in February 2015

We found Richard´s place through AirBnB, however I would have booked through Trip Advisor, if I had found it there first.

The location was perfect, at least if you are someone who likes to vacation AWAY from cookie-cutter, sterile hotels in touristy districts.

It was simple to get here from the airport with a taxi. City-wide bus transportation was easily available, although there were terrific restaurants and sights to visit within close walking distance. The Arts District made us feel like we were actually experiencing San Juan as a local person would experience it. While the neighborhood may be edgy, we felt safe. With good common sense, it was like visiting any other city. The many art murals were very interesting, and it was fantastic to have several only steps from the door.

The historic house itself was wonderful! We could not have stayed in a lovelier, more suitable place. The architecture and furnishings captured the Spanish influence of PR, and the ambiance was very comfortable and beautiful. We stayed on the top floor and frequently enjoyed sitting on the porch; the fountain was a very nice touch. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom adequate and nicely furnished. Do be warned that there were a couple of levels with steps to get to the suite. However we are fairly fit, and for us, the walk up to our room was charming.

Richard, himself, was an amazing host. He was always on top of returning correspondence before our visit. He created and shared a very good informational packet. He played the role of tour guide and concierge.

Upon our arrival, which was before check in, he stored our luggage, and set us up with beach towels, sunscreen and directions. The beach was only a few blocks away and it was a nice place to recover after a red-eye flight. The restaurant/coffee shop that Richard recommended was delicious with local dishes and it was a perfect welcome to San Juan, Puerto Rico. After we checked in to our room and rested awhile, Richard gave us a terrific tour of the house´s ``museum´´ and the SJ Arts District. Then he left us off in the downtown square to enjoy Valentines Day and our first evening in Puerto Rico. During our two night stay, Richard was always available to make excellent recommendations and to help with directions. He was truly passionate about Puerto Rico and the SJ Arts District. We could not have found a better host or place to stay.

If we return to SJ in the future, we will definitely book here again!

“Perfect, comfotable and charming, you feel at home!”
Reviewed 18 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Its location is unbeatable, you do not need to rent a car, and can reach the interesting sites by public transport. Avoiding the hassles of parking lots, accidents. Old San Juan is beautiful, with its little streets, its fortresses. The house has all the amenities, a kitchen stocked with appliances, and spices. The front balcony is our favorite place, we have breakfast and dinner surrounded by plants, breeze. The landlord Richard is the most kind, helpful person, he solves our doubts, guides us with directions, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable as if it were your home.

“Wonderfully appointed cozy apartment in a great neighborhood”
Reviewed 15 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Located in close to interesting sites in Santurce in a great historic building. The 2nd floor apt. has a great kitchen and two private balconies and fully functional wi fi (vs many spots where it is a tease not a reality). The art and music studios below and adjoining the apartment are part of what make the neighborhood so vibrant. Richard, was the epitome of a professional host and provided a great orientation to the environs, providing apt suggestions for our all too brief stay. We will definitely consider a return trip.

This is a great place to stay for so many reasons. This is a three level home that has been totally renovated. It is a beautiful building that has been correctly and tastefully renovated. There is a rental unit on each floor. The fist floor is home to a museum for Santos.

Richard, the owner is the perfect host. He is always available by text, email or in person. He has a wealth of knowledge of the area and a true concern to make your stay a memorable one.

The house is centrally located in Santurce. It is walking distance to Museums, Pueblo Market, Walmart, Tren Urbano and the Mercado. Many restaurants and night clubs are nearby. It is walking distance to the beach or you can take the bus part way. If you are staying in San Juan you don't need a car. Bus, Train, Uber and Taxi's are readily available. If needed, car rental is nearby.

We stayed on the first floor earlier this year. Both places are nice. They come with everything you could possibly need and more. The neiborhood is very safe and the people are wonderful Puerto Rican friendly.

Santurce is home to a wall mural festival. I included some pictures of murals you can see in the neiborhood.
