Owner description: Relax on this shady, isolated beach - after that 30 minute walk to get there from the main road, you'll need it.

I've seen many reviews about a 20 minute walk, for me it was s 30 minute,150 ft descent virtually straight down the mountain thru rough terrain. The hike back up was more difficult and longer, my wife is in great shape, for her not a big issue.
Make sure you are wearing shoes and not sandals. In short, if you are in shape or moderate shape, take the hike, if you're not (be honest), I'd suggest taking a boat ride over. The scenery is beautiful as you walk thru some dense vegetation and a few clearings for photo op near some rocks.
When you get there, the beach is amazing, clear water, white sand and plenty of space to spread out from others.

Although a trek to get to, doing so is a worthy effort. Beautiful white sand. Large enough to provide space and not be crowded.

Took the easy way to Colombier - by boat. Fabulous snorkeling by the rocks - clear water with brightly colored fish. Gorgeous beach - walk to the gate and stairway to the deserted Rockefeller mansion.

I've heard there are easier ways to get to Colombier, but I wanted to do the hike. So, my husband and I parked at the top of the mountain, then hiked to the beach. It was hot, and it was difficult (I have terrible knees and asthma), but when we got to the beach, it was worth every drop of sweat. The water was beautiful, the sand was soft, and it was quiet. There were other people, but the beach is long enough that you had your own piece of heaven.

Pack a lot of sunscreen and water as well as snacks or other foods because it's a ways back to civilization. The hike back up the mountain was even more rough--but again, so worth it. It's my favorite beach at St. Barth.

You can drive to a point but then you must park at the lookout point and continue on foot. The downhill path is well maintained but there are some loose dirt/stones sections on the way so proper shoes are helpful; I don't recommend flip flops.
The beach is refreshing, but not too cool, after the hike to get there. No shade trees on the shoreline so bring an umbrella if you plan to be there a while.
If you are into hiking, the return trek is a nice little challenge. Will definitely get your heart rate up. If you've been a couch potato for the past 6-12 months, this 20-minute walk uphill could hurt.
