My daughter and I had a lovely week staying in this super villa. Clean, well - equipped kitchen, lovely views from the balcony. Near many places worth visiting on the east side of the island. You need a car, and we were grateful that Martin met us at the airport so we could follow him back to the villa from the airport, as we might have had trouble finding it otherwise. Martin and Johanna were very kind and helpful - Martin was particularly great in helping sort out our hire car when the gearbox went halfway through the week! If you would rather be independent than stay in a resort you couldn't do better

We (2 couples) spent 5 days in this gorgeous apartment. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw the amazing views of the pitons from the spacious verandah.
Its extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, well equipped, and in a fabulous location for all the sights.
The owners are lovely, so friendly and helpful.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property and if we return to St Lucia we will definitely be back.
Thank you Martin and Joanna for having us :)

“Breathtaking view of Pitons”

Piton Vista Villa was fabulous! It was a bit more rustic and dated than we had expected, considering the price that we paid, but overall it was a wonderful experience.
The negatives were just a few - the dishes, counters, and stove were quite greasy and we had to wash them before using.
The sink in the second bathroom was broken, which was a bit inconvenient. The wifi did not really work as there is no router for the villa, you have to rely on the router that is upstairs.
I feel that for the price asked, compared to other similar listings on the island, these things should be taken care of in order to make it worth it. In the end though, the positives far outweigh the few negatives.
Martin was quick to reply to emails and to answer any pre-trip questions. He is willing (at no cost) to meet you at the airport and if you have rented a car, to guide you back to the villa as the roads are twisty and somewhat confusing until you know the lay of the land.
The villa is very spacious and the view is absolutely incredible. It is on a hill overlooking the Gros Piton, and if you are in the master bedroom you can also see the Petit Piton. There are adorable birds that join you for breakfast, and the balcony is the best place to relax with a beer and enjoy the sunset. Martin was accommodating but not intrusive. He and his wife Joanna live upstairs and are readily available if needed, but will give you complete privacy. We actually only saw them the first day and the last day, and one time in between when we had a question about the laundry. The villa is about 10-15 minutes from the town of Soufriere, and 20 minutes or so from the town of Laborie.
The kitchen was well equipped with pots and dishes. There are fans for each bedroom as well as AC in the living area and master bedroom.

The villa was quite comfortable and spacious for relaxing in the evenings after a rough day at the beach!
Thank you Martin and Joanna!

“The Heart of St. Lucia”
Reviewed 18 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We truly felt that we were in the heart of St. Lucia when we stayed in Martin and Joanna's beautiful apartment overlooking the Pitons and the Caribbean beyond. We flew to St. Lucia from another island so we landed at the domestic airport at Castries. We rented a car from Sext Car Rental in Marigot Bay. They drove up to the airport and met us there-- we can't say enough to praise their service! We highly recommend them. We drove slowly down the west side of the island, enjoying the tropical jungle along the highway and the many small communities we passed through. As we came down the hillside toward Soufriere we knew we had come to a very special part of the world. The views were astoundingly beautiful and dramatic. Equally important, every time we stopped to look or to take a photo we met friendly, warm hearted people along the way. Congratulations to the people of St. Lucia for having found a way to maintain such a generous and welcoming island in spite of challenges of dealing with the many visitors who come and go. From Soufriere to the apartment the road ascends up into the hills, winding past one beautiful location after another, each of which we later came back to visit. This area is a nature lovers paradise. Walking, hiking, being lazy are all great ways to experience the beauty. No matter what you do, you'll encounter lovely people, great food, and gorgeous natural beauty. Martin stepped outside to greet us as we arrived at the apartment and he led us through an entrance of flowers and neatly arrange tiles on the path. We were amazed at the large apartment with the views directly facing he Pitons and the sea. That evening we cooked a simple dinner in the well supplied kitchen and enjoyed the warm breeze and view from our balcony outside. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning but we enjoyed sleeping with the bedroom windows open throughout our stay. It's worth mentioning that although the apartment sits up the hill from one of the main roads, the day time traffic sounds were not bothersome to us, and at night the road became as silent as if a police barrier had been put up! It seems that most everybody has the good sense to sleep at night instead of driving back and forth. Martin and Joanna are the perfect hosts: After showing us to lock the doors, how to use the brand new washing machine, and other introductions, they disappeared. But they also encouraged us to stop in with any questions we might have. That was easy to do, since their door was a two minute walk from our door. So in spite of the proximity, we felt as private as if we were hidden away in a forest. We have never encountered more helpful and generous hosts. One of the best ways to summarize whether or not you liked a destination is to ask: "Would you like to return?" For both of us, we were already planning our return before we left, not only to this beautiful island, but also to the comfort and wonderful location of this great apartment.

“A local St Lucian self contained property away from the main tourist areas”
Reviewed 18 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

If you're looking to stay on St Lucia but away from all the 5* luxury tourist resort hotels, then you'd find this self contained apartment very comfortable.
Situated in the SW of the island, and just off the island road, there's good access for travelling around to visit the rest of the island.
We stayed for 2 weeks in November and were met at the airport by Martin, the property owner, who guided us back to the property after we'd collected our hire car. This was very helpful as road signage on the island is very sparse and any maps rather lacking in detail.
Our car hire was with BestRates Cars/24 Hours Car Rentals who offered good rates and were very helpful.
We spent our time going out and about finding deserted beaches, country tracks and generally enjoying the tropical landscape - and sitting on our balcony looking out across to the Pitons and the sea in the distance.
This was our first visit to St Lucia and was a really enjoyable 2 weeks.
