We went there when the sandbar for the stingrays was closed due to high winds. You do see some starfish in the area but not many. It looks more like a deserted island.

We added this into the stingrays city excursion. It's a nice addition. Well worth the time. The guides were great, they were able to show use a lot of starfish and were very careful with them an explained how to handle them without Harmon them.

There are lots of starfish, but we saw very few in the shallow sand. You really have to swim out a short distance to the reef, where the water isn't as clear.

We took a boat tour that included a stop at Star Fish Point. There weren't a lot of other people or boats so it was very nice. There aren't Starfish all over but we still saw quite a few. The beach area is also very nice. Some of the kids on our tour played in the sand. I thought it was beautiful. Maybe because we went in the afternoon when the cruise tours are over. I could see how having a crowded beach would be bad. My best guess is to go on low cruise port days and doing it later in the day. We spent maybe 40 minutes there which was about perfect.

Our family stayed near north beach for a week - we rented a car during our vacation. We chartered. boat with a captain for an afternoon and he recommended for us to visit Star Fish Point. He said he wouldn’t spend our time and money taking us there since it was a short distance in car for us - great advice.

If you have extra time I recommend visiting Star Fish Point. Get there early (avoiding the cruise ship tours). Parking is free and you will be able to find plenty of starfish on your own.

Total time we spent there was 30 minutes. Take great pictures and enjoy touching the Star Fish. No cost to this wonderful experience.
