We ate at Mr. groupers last year and couldn't wait to visit again! We had the jerk chicken and ribs. The smoothies here are also very good! Such a nice local spot!

First don’t let the location scare you. It looks a little rough but the food is incredible. I had the blacken grouper and my wife had the garlic shrimp. Both were amazing, cooked perfect, and very reasonably priced. Service was very good, the best we have had on the island so far. Make sure you check it out!!

This of the path restaurant is just what the doctor ordered. The food is good, just a little pricey as all restaurant's are on this Island

Let’s begin to explain what this restaurant is. This is the proverbial hole in the wall or dive bar or off the beaten path. This is not a chef-made food restaurant. It’s a shack sitting on one of the lateral roads. Decoration and ambience is close to none, but again, this is a shack type restaurant. It has no views to the water or anything really. It’s within walking distance from the Alexandra, Palms, Somerset, etc. We came here for lunch. Not many patrons at the time so service was quick. Food is typical bahamian or Caribbean so expect to see conch, fish, shrimp, chowders on the menu. Taste wise, Caribbean cuisine is usually based on sweet condiments, deep fried or grilled. The food here is adequately flavored. I ordered the coconut crust grouper with fried food plantains. The food was hot, fresh made. Flavor is consistent with what you would expect at almost any restaurant on the island including the high-end restaurants. Personally, i am used to food with tons of flavor or condiments that are flavor-enhancers so I wasn’t wowed by the taste of the food but I wasn’t wowed by the flavors at any other high priced restaurants. That being said, due the location, food presentation, atmosphere of the restaurant, the food prices at MR Groupers are about 10 dollars cheaper on entrees, and a couple bucks cheaper in starters/appetizers in comparison with the more posh Restaurants. Overall, it’s a good restaurant and it’s worth going there due to price range and food. Bear in mind that this is more of a beer and local food restaurant than a wine and dune. As others pointed out, service may be very slow during peak hours but I cannot comment on that since we went during low traffic hours.
Frankly, we went to all kinds of restaurant (cheap and fine) during our stay in TCI but none of them had that “wow” factor in their flavors except for the Coconut Cove which I’ll review later. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of people will swear by the fine restaurants on the beach simply because they get “wowed “ by food presentation and perhaps its flavor is adequate to them. To me, definitely a foodie, food presentation is nothing more than a sales-pitch and price enhancement.
Really, there’s no reason not to try Mr Groupers. Go for it and see for yourself. Quite honestly, you’re unlikely to have a bad meal in the island but you’re likely to run into a lot of the same.

Mr. Grouper's was by far our favorite restaurant we visited during our stay on the island. The meals were delicious and the dining setting on the wrap-around deck, even though it's not right on the beach, was fantastic. If we could only recommend one restaurant to anyone visiting Grace Bay - Mr. Grouper's would be it!
