We were looking for a quiet secluded oasis and we found it and more at the Northwest Point Resort.

The condo was so lovely. It had everything we needed to feel right at home. The pool area is beautiful, clean and inviting. The restaurant was great with good food, a bar, and a friendly staff. The manager Lisa is amazing and addressed any questions that we had immediately.

But the beach. Oh the beach. It’s heavenly. It’s quiet and full of conch shells and the perfect blue water was wonderful. The beach is very secluded and quiet and natural. It’s the most beautiful beach that I have ever seen.

We loved it so much we are going back in July. It was heavenly.

Some pro tips: you need to rent a car. The resort is remote and secluded and away from the tourist trappings of Grace Bay. Call Tashy at Rent a Buggy. She was great and brought it out to us.

Bring Cash. Everyone prefers US Dollars on the island and give discounts when you pay in cash. There are cash and carry grocery stores and liquor stores. There are also more expensive stores that take credit cards but the discounts were impressive.

Know that the bar and restaurant close at 7, so plan accordingly. It’s about 20 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Grace Bay but the drive is worth the serenity.

We stayed in Suite 210 (Building B) for a week over Christmas. Having visited TCI multiple times in the past, we were aware that the resort would be quite far north. We wanted a more secluded experience than Grace Bay, so we rented a car, thinking the distance wouldn't be a significant issue. However, after a week, we realized that driving 30 minutes each way meant wasting 2 hours of our vacation daily (we would drive to the nice beaches in the morning, return, and then drive back for dinner). It was a considerable amount of time to spend on driving. While our older kids were patient, I can't imagine doing that with small kids.

One might think that staying at the resort's beaches is a solution. The problem is that this beach is the worst on TCI—seaweed (it does get cleaned daily!), dark water, and windy conditions. Heading a bit south to Taylor Beach or Hidden Beach is like night and day; it doesn't even compare. Even Grace Bay is significantly better. We did spend afternoons at the resort beach, but it paled in comparison to almost any other beach on TCI. That's probably the reason we wouldn't return. Everything else was great, but the beach here is just not up to 'TCI-quality.'

Our room was nice and clean, with a well-stocked kitchen. However, they only provide a couple of detergent pods for laundry and a tiny bit of shampoo and toilet paper. There is no cleaning service; we got one for an extra fee ($140) and then we ended up washing our own towels and vacuuming sand throughout our stay.

There is a restaurant on-site... theoretically. I wouldn't rely on it for your meals since it was just getting opened and one day it closed unexpectedly, although I understand many people cook their own. Grills are available. The pool is much larger than we expected, and there is a hot tub.

Overall, the room itself is absolutely fine - I just think we greatly underestimated the distance from everything; and also I would definitely stay at a nicer beach next time.

The stay was very relaxing. The resort is on the quiet side of the island. It has its own beach, and a lovely pool. You need a car rental and to stop at a grocery store before getting to the resort. The resort fees are quite high. The only downside is that the road to the resort is unpaved and tedious to get down. Also there is a 15-30 minute drive to the other side of the island where most of the restaurants, shopping, and other beaches are located.

We really enjoyed our stay at Northwest Point Resort (NWP)! Yes it is off the beaten path but that's the real beauty of this resort (especially during a pandemic). Our 3 bedroom unit (201) was great as was the pool, hot tub, and beach. Cooked in for most of our meals but did venture to Grace bay for a few dinners (da Conche Shack, Coco Bistro, Infiniti). The drive ranges from 25-35 minutes and the last few miles to NWP are on a dirt road -- navigate the bumps and watch your speed. The beautiful walk along the beach to Northwest Point National Park was a great way to start the day. We arranged scuba diving with Aqua TCI -- a first class operation.

Northwest Point Resort is one of those "best-kept secrets" kind-a-resorts. Located on the northwest portion of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Providenciales, it is truly a quiet, relaxing resort that will allow users to get away from the stress of modern-day life. The resort is a very safe, gated location that is at least 3 miles (5 km) from the end of the paved portion of Millenium Highway. Although our stay's manager was not present, she was available and communicated by text frequently. The staff were unobtrusive but always visible throughout our stay. One of them even assisted us with a flat tire repair. Although the restaurant was not open due to COVID 19 restrictions, it appears to be an open-air style building that would make for lovely nightly dinners. The resort offers a few amenities like free use of an ocean kayak, beach toys, and life preservers. There are also a few pool amenities near the restaurant to include free books to read and pool floatation devices to relax in the water with. While the restaurant is closed, I would make a few suggestions. Rent a rugged SUV (like a JEEP WRANGLER) as the unpaved portion of Millennium Highway is riddled with potholes leading to the resort. Also, stop by one of the grocery stores on Leeward Highway prior to arriving at the resort. Be prepared to pay a great deal more for food in the store as the prices are very high.
