My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian for our anniversary in the beginning of June 2010. We had a fantastic time and the weather was perfect!! I could not get over how clear the ocean was. Even going out a ways on the hobie cats, it was still totally clear! The beach was not huge, but a lot of people seemed to hang out at the pool all day, so it wasn't extremely crowded. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of restaurants with every type of food you can think of. The resort itself was always very clean and neat and everything is very elegantly decorated. There is not a ton of night life (about one show or band every night). It was only about a 10 minute shuttle from the airport, which was great! More time at the resort and less time traveling to get there is always nice. We would definitely recommend this resort to friends.

Our stay at this resort was by far superb in customer service. I've traveled all around the world but I have to say I was delighted by this staff. If you go to visit, you would have to ask for an employee by the name of Arizona in the Food and Beverage Department. She went out her way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our meals special. The whole entire staff at Cricket’s Pub made every visit fun and accommodating. I remember every one who we interacted with throughout our visit. Marcian, Preston, Terrell, Jermaine and Valadez in the Pub all exemplified great customer service. I have to say, I can tell great management is in place at this resort. I had a small issue that was beyond the hotel's control and manager Chauncey went out of his way to make sure we were accommodated during working towards a resolution. Much thanks to him. I will visit this resort again next year.

If this were 1999, Sandals Royal Bahamian would be a killer find for couples. But as all-inclusive chains around the world have begun to realize that their troughs of Sysco food and legions of super-hyper "fun ambassadors" are the hallmark of outdated mega resorts, I was surprised to find that Sandals was still stooping to these low standards.

There is nothing at all uncomfortable about this hotel: We stayed in the cheapest room and it was nicely appointed, super comfortable, and conveniently located. The pools are clean, the beaches gorgeous, and the watered-down booze is plentiful. The quality devil is in the sad lack of attention to detail at Sandals Royal Bahamian, however: Outdated decor that's part Greek mythology, part British parlor; banal food with slooow service; a poorly appointed water sports area that's rife with peddlers trying to sell cigars and hair braiding services. Perhaps most insulting is the resort's blatant refusal to integrate Bahamian culture into their entertainment: After being boated to the private island and eaten by sand fleas while eating mediocre food, guests were encouraged to "let loose" with the Playmakers: i.e., "Ladies, jump in the pool, fully clothed, as this Junkanoo band plays Lady Gaga songs!" When that happened--as some good-sport guests played along--there were no towels offered and no t-shirts to change into. We watched chattering newlyweds boat back to the main resort to listen to a sax player croon smooth jazz ballads to a handful of bored guests.

Future guests--especially Wedding- or Honeymooners--take note: All-inclusives don't need to be this lame, especially at this astronomical price. Sandals, it's time to up your game.

From the time of our arrival, we felt very comfortable and relaxed, Staff were very polite and was more than happy to assist us. our room was ready and comfortable. Resort is located close to the airport and about 15 minutes by bus to down town Nassau. We had trouble deciding which restaurent to dine but found all of them clean, good food, good service. I am not sure why (if any) anyone want to give a bad review about this place as we have been to many hotels/resorts in various countries but they come very far second.
Special mention should go to all the staff + their GM for this fantastic place, even if we are unable to remember everyones name Clyde,Sheldon,Michelle,Audrey, you guys were unreal and thanks.

First, let me say that the poor reviews for this place must be from people who are confusing it with a different place or work for the competition!!! We researched this and other sites extensively when planning our trip, and not only did we find the "poor" ratings and comments to be untrue, but they were often the complete opposite!
We stayed for a week in June, 2010, and we were amazed from the beginning. The entire resort (okay - we stayed in the Windsor Building so I guess we can't speak for the Manor Building but saw all else) is clean, updated, and the perfect settings for romance and fun!!!
We participated in a few of the nightly activites offered by the resort (piano bar sing along was fun!!!) and many of the day activities - snorkling, catamarans, kayaking, tennis, billiards, etc....so nice that these are all included! And after snorkling in many different locations we have to say the reef here is AMAZING!!!.
The offshore island was our favorite...it's a 2 minute boat ride and the 2 beaches are very private and cozy, lots of cabanas, swimming pool and cafe make for a good day or just an hour to hang out! We did hear from others who went at night that you should bring bug spray for the island but during the day we didn't see a single mosquito!
We found the staff everywhere to be very polite, helpful. and fun! The guys at the Cricketers Pub (English pub we visited daily!) were a lot of fun...setting up bar games, dancing to "YMCA" and "Mamma Mia" and just providing a good time! When we needed anything in our room a phone call was all it took to have it delivered.
The all inclusive food and drink is also great...we made a point to eat at each of the restaurants at least once....
Cricketer's Pub - English pub, bar food, very good!
Cassanova - Italian with an all you can eat salad/snack bar
Kimonos - Japanese Hibachi...very fun!
Crystal Room - very classy, excellent steaks, chicken and seafood
Baccarat - French, delicious!
Royal Cafe - outdoor near one of the pools, cafe sandwiches and salads
cafe Goombay - on the offshore island, very yummy wraps and sandwiches
the Pizzeria - outdoor stone grilled pizzas and more...they even wrapped our up to take back to our room!
Spice - buffet for breakfast and lunch
Only 2 of the restaurants need reservations - Baccarat and Kimonos - all you have to do is call the front desk and they book it for you but we recommend calling them right away because Baccarat especially only have 14 tables...we called when we arrived Saturday and the earliest we got our table there was Wednesday.
We loved all the food and drinks...there was nothing we didn't like (though neither of us is picky) but the Crystal Room was our favorite.
One of our favorite things was that you can have breakfast delivered to your room daily...continental type of stuff (breads/cereals/fruits) but definitely enough to get us going until we were ready to leave the room (which we often did late as we enjoyed sleeping in every day!)
I can't say enough how much we loved this whole resort, staff, food, and everything! Really recomment walking around the whole grounds after you arrive though...we failed to check out some of the spots (like the giant chess set! and coy pond!) until our last day and wished we had done so earlier.
Also we heard from many people that the nearby casino and market were a lot of fun and very easy to get to via bus or taxi but we never made it to these (we were a little lazy and enjoying the time to be so!!!)
Oh, and we brought our laptop to keep in touch with family (who were taking care of our son) and neighbors (who were taking care of our house)...Wi-Fi is available in the public areas for free but we chose to pay for Internet access in our room for the week...it was only $38 for the whole week.
