Outdated rooms. I normally think people make a little too much of outdated rooms but this room was pretty bad. The only spare electrical outlet was near the bed closest the the bathroom. I had to use my friend's bed as a desk in order to use my laptop. Once it was fully charged I could use the table in the room. There was 3 of us in the room and we had to take turns charging our devices.

Comfort. Other than the ridiculous lack of outlets I found the bed and pillows to be comfortable. Our balcony did have a nice ocean view. I believe there are plenty of rooms with bad views but ours was lovely.

Extra fees. The hotel has a lot of mandatory taxes and fees. They will be added to your base rate so calculate carefully when you want to plan your trip budget. Beach tower is $5. per person per day for gratuities. $49.95 resort fee per room per night, $3.75 VAT per room per night and tax of 18.25% of room rate. (i.e. if your rate is $200 nightly tax is about $36.50 for each night) So on a $200 room for 2 people figure about another $100 for taxes, gratuities, fees.

Included with room rate and fees: The waterpark is included with room and it is a lot of fun. Standard room safe with 4 digit code lock. They do have a coffee maker although our room only had enough supplies to make 2 cups of coffee so we had some more sent up right away. Free internet connection for 4 devices. We found connections to be good in our room and on the grounds. Bathroom had the usual hotel sized shampoo but no conditioner. Room does have an empty refrigerator for your use. No mini-bar. Upon check-in the front desk gives you a water coupon for each day of your stay. One coupon gets you 2 bottles of water at any restaurant or bar. The big water in your room will cost you about $8.00 if you open it. They also have a movie theater where you can catch a free movie and offer about 3 different movies every day.

Beach. We loved the beach. Clean with nice sand and plenty of chaise lounge available free for guests. They don't make you keep track of your towel at this resort! Get a towel at towel hut and you can leave it behind and let the staff pick it up without worry about getting charged for a lost towel. I have been to the Bahamas many times and this is the first time I encountered waves. In fact, the waves were so big I could not get in and the following day the waves were so big they literally closed the beach. Luckily that was the day we picked to visit the waterpark.

Drink and Food. Best drink deals are from third party vendors on the beach who will give you a drink in a fresh coconut for $10 with one free refill. We paid $12.00 for one drink at the beach bar. We did order some fairly reasonable food and snacks at the beach bar. For a nice dinner out without breaking the bank we recommend Carmines. Prices seem high at first glance but these are huge family sized portions so 1 dish to share for 2 people is plenty. For 3 people we got the stuffed mushrooms, chicken marsala on a bed of angel hair pasta (you have to request the pasta at additional $15) and a glass of wine each. It ended up being around 35 bucks each (plus tip) and we had enough leftovers to for all 3 of us to share as lunch the next day. Do check out the restaurants ahead of time on their website and make reservations online if you want to be sure to eat in one of the nice restaurants.

The Marina. Before I left I kept seeing mention of the marina. This is an area across the street from the hotel. It is an easy walk from the lobby at the Coral Towers. Literally just cross the street and there you are. Looks like a little cobblestone village of shops and restaurants. Here is where you will find Carmines and some other restaurants.

Hot tub. There is a hot tub at the Beach tower hotels. It's not on the map. As you walk toward the beach, to the left, before the towel hut there is a walkway, you may see a sign for a children's pool and the hot tub is over there behind the children's pool. It is large enough for 20 people or so and the water is not the least bit hot. So disappointing.

Cashless society. You will find around most of the resort you are either going to pay with a credit card or charge to your room because most spots around the resort will not take cash. Carmines was the only place we visited that said they would take cash. Third party vendors take cash. Kiosks at the marina, vendors on the beach, etc.

Waterpark. It's right in the middle of the resort and larger than I expected. It had so many fun water slides. All free except locker rental. We got a small locker for $16 and it was plenty big enough for all 3 of us so stuff in our sneakers, outer clothes, purses, towels. If you need more room, ditch the towels and get a fresh towel. There are plenty of towel huts on the property. The Leap of Faith slide was awesome!

Casino. Plenty of slots and they are not too tight. You should have fun playing slots. Plenty of blackjack tables. I believe I saw a 3 card poker table. Definitely no Pai Gow. I looked everywhere for that one.

Overall. We usually go for all-inclusives so this would not be our go-to vacation but the Atlantis is so big with so much to do we found it a fun change of pace. It's an experience worth having.

Room Tip: Go for the ocean view.

We just came back from a stay at The Beach, Atlantis. It is the least expensive hotel in Atlantis so expect as much. Yes, you do need to check in at The Coral but it was a pleasant walk (inside) to The Beach. Our room was very nice - comfy king-sized bed, refrigerator (not a stocked minibar so room for any food you buy), coffee maker and the usual hotel amenities. The lazy river is located here as is a nice pool and quick beach access. If you don't mind a little walking, this is an affordable way to stay at Atlantis.
The only thing we didn't like - and this was true of all the Atlantis locations - is that the lobby was COLD. I can understand the need for air-conditioning but this was beyond excessive. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay at The Beach and would definitely recommend it

Stayed at the beach tower this week. Still here actually. First the view I had requested was not fulfilled even though I had two adjoining rooms. Second of the three elevators only two worked. However this was the beginning of the week. By today only one works. The other stops on each floor and has an operator sitting in elevator asking what floor you are going to. Which would be fine except she’s taking up valuable space which is a problem when only two elevators are working. We were on a dining plan. However each night our meals were added to our bill. Then tonight went to front desk to ask again why this is so only to be told that we don’t have the gourmet dining plan. “Can we provide proof?” So showed manager email confirming gourmet plan however he can’t fix the bill Bc it’s Good Friday.
8:15 reservation tonight at Bahamian club. It’s 10. Just served entree. I have two kids. 8 pm reservations are usually fine when dinner is served on time. Here it is not. Island time. As for internet speed. Terrible. I wasn’t using my phone all day. Except at night to read emails. It took forever. Tv in rooms didn’t work one day. That took two days to fix even though we were told maintenance left a note that they couldn’t get in ( there was no note)
At pool difficult to get a clean towel. Have to get there very very early or you’re out of luck. For cost CleAn towels at pool and working TVs should be bare minimum. However it’s not all bad.
Casa de Angelo laSt night was exception to this island time. They were on time and service incredible. Food amazing.
I woudlnt stay at beach towers ever again. I’ve stayed in royal and coral towers and had such a great experience. However not sure if I even want to stay here at Atlantis when I’ve heard better prices and service at Baja mar. Love bAhamS. JuSt not beach tower.
Spend the extra $$$ for coral or royal.

We had 3 different rooms in a 4 day/3 night stay. The first room was totally unacceptable, there was mold on the wall and the view was horrible. We walked in and right out, room 4139. The check in desk is at the Coral and it is a LONG walk with luggage to get to the Beach rooms. There is a desk for help at the Beach so we did not have to walk back to the Coral tower. Our next room was 6130, much cleaner and a way better view. This room was perfect- except at 5 AM the ceiling in the bathroom started leaking. We called prompt guest services and at 6:30AM help arrived. Maintenance stated it was from the room above and they would be right back. At 8:39 AM, we had to go down to the help desk. At that time we were told we could be moved OR given a nominal $75 to make up for the inconvenience. ( We ended up with both-but I still think the reimbursement was weak since we could not move directly into the new room. We had to wait until check-in at 3 pm).
Also, instead of the front staff apologizing for our inconvenience, they acted like we were a bother and we should just put up with the issues.
We finally ended up in room 9130, no issues there. The room was clean and the view was great!
The actual beach in front of the hotel was perfect. The pool was also great and not crowded. The Lazy river was very lazy and also not crowded.

If we had started with room 9130 or the staff had be caring, this would have been a 4 star review.

I do want to give a shout out to Tabitha, the one friendly front staff person we encountered.

We have stayed a total of 5 times at Atlantis in the last 15 years, in 3 different locations at the resort. On no occasion over this entire period has our loyalty been recognised in any way. The latest trip was a treat for our 17 year old daughter and her best friend. On the day of our arrival at approximately 9pm we had been travelling for 20 hours nonstop from Europe via the U.S.. We were directed to check in at the Coral Towers reception and assigned rooms in the Hibiscus Villas, around 10 minutes' walk away. On arrival we discovered that the door to one of the rooms would not open using the card keys provided. After repeated trips back to Coral Towers and subsequently Beach Towers reception (when we then had to stand in line behind people checking in after us), during the course of which a further three card keys were provided, we were finally told that Security would have to open the door using a hard key but that nobody could come for another 15 minutes. We finally gained access to the room at least an hour after we had checked in but of course could not re-enter the room when we left for breakfast the following morning. The door was finally fixed at around 11am the morning after our arrival, therefore some 14 hours after we checked in. No form of compensation at all was offered. The room itself was in a pleasant location but in no way measured up to the price we paid. There was only one functioning light, the door to the room safe was hanging off, and there were only two power points. After the first day consumables for the coffee-maker were not replaced and housekeeping said they had no further supplies; this was only rectified on the last night of our stay. There was significant noise from construction work at the Coral Towers and a number of restaurants and other facilities, in particular the Sea Grapes restaurant which had been the only facility close to the rooms where we stayed to offer buffet breakfast and dinner, were closed. We were regularly challenged by security staff to confirm that we were genuine guests by showing our room keys (while others around us were not)and on two occasions when we tried to pay for goods using chip-and-pin debit cards we were told that additional photo ID was mandatory (for obvious reasons we did not carry our passports around the resort with us). For every one member of staff who was helpful and friendly there was another who was aggressive and rude. There is very little in our experience of this latest visit to encourage us ever to return to the resort.
