I booked the Eastern Heritage Tour online with Jeff. I was doing it last minute, and he responded very quickly. He even offered to call me in an hour for my information.
*Jeff was so friendly and warm!! He met us (just myself & my mother) at the cruise area and took us to Ben's Cave and the mangroves at Lucayan National Park. What a pretty spot! And he knows everything about the area - very informative. Even on the drive there, we stopped on a bridge to see a channel with beautiful clear water, and he pointed out some trees that were smoking from self-combustion! I think you pass by at least 5 different ecosystems on this tour (maybe 7?).
The best part was Gold Rock Beach, just across the street from Lucayan National Park. We were there early before the other tours and had the place to ourselves. We could not believe this place was for real! Pictures don't do it justice. I've been to many beaches, and this one was so unique! Soft, white sand for as far as you can see - it seems like you're on a sand bar when the tide is out. Turquoise water. Simply beautiful.
For lunch, Jeff took us to another nice beach where he knows a couple with a beach restaurant (Cleveland's). The food was delicious!! Fresh seafood caught that morning, and even chicken or burgers. Quaint, lovely local place that we would never have known about.
This was probably one of my top three all-time favorite shore excursions I've done in my frequent cruising over the past 12 years! Jeff is wonderful!! We'll be back with more family in the future for another great tour.
