It was our 9th time to this ClubMed, it's truly like a second home. We were off to a great start since Nico had our three rooms with a view ready & waiting, very much appreciated!! Juliet at reception was ready with the daily news and always with a warm smile. We saw familiar faces and dined together on a few occasions with lovely Audrey & engaging Eduardo. Shout out to a fun trio: Steph, Katie & Loic (parcours!!). Sports guy Jeff was great ("let's get with it, let's not and say we did"). Harrison & Axel are a talented dance duo. Huge thanks to Sophie & Erik for their awesome gym classes. Cheers to the bar service: Kevin, Nicolas, Jordan, Beverly & Anjelica.
The Pinta was very zen and well curated. Great lunch menus, snack bar & dinner tapas. The village chef, Julio Cesar, went above & beyond.
We spent most of our mornings with the best three tennis coaches: Mathieu, Maxime & Theo. Thanks for the encouragement and the energy you brought. We enjoy the new format.
The beach is incredible, volleyball was inclusive and fun, and room service is great.
Last but certainly not least, the Chef du Village, Spencer, and his Assistant, Sophia, were super friendly and helpful. They make a great team and made our two week stay memorable. We will be back! Takacsy family

Spent spring break 2018 March here with family of four including twin teenagers. We are all certified divers and had a great time with the scuba outfitters. The operation is run by Seafari, a subcontractor for Club Med. The entire group is very professional and although the equipment is used, it was entirely adequate for the week of diving daily. Two tank dives in the morning ( 1-1.25 hr surface interval)and one tank dive in the afternoon are available. They take safety very seriously. A couple of mornings the wind was up as was the surf and we had to take a bus a short distance to a very small Marina where they store the boat in rough sea. On the leeward side of the island. Diving was very good to excellent on the days we went. Visibility ≥ 150 ft. Plenty of reef sharks, tropical fish, huge Barrel sponges, gorgonia, and tons of variety in various locations to which we were brought. Recommend strongly taking the group dive which is limited to 4 -5 people with a single English-speaking guide who knows the reef and was able to steer us away from the fairly large crowds of Buddy divers who were all there to see the biggest sharks they could, which annoyed me because the most interesting things are considerably smaller and at comfortable depths. Most dives did not exceed 80 ft. The boat and dive shop staff are friendly and polite. They are also extremely helpful and want you to have a great time. They're also very conscious of safety and documented the amount of air left in your tank. Some people were not respectful of universal underwater hand signals for gauge checks and half tank signals and came up at significantly low levels of air. This really irritated the Dive Master who gave a tongue lashing to those unsafe divers both in English and French.

The food was very good with excellent variety for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was pretty much the same but we were out early every morning and it didn't much matter to us. The Bahamian dining room staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating. A breath of fresh air.

The rooms are rundown in spite of efforts to renovate. There are no signs of the massive hurricane damage in 2015 with beautiful grounds and well-kept Beach. They did not take an opportunity to upgrade or renovate the insides of the rooms after the hurricane. The buildings are built of solid concrete and withstood the hurricane extremely well but signs of heavy use are evident in the rooms, particularly when compared to when we were here shortly after it opened in the mid-90s. Bathrooms showed the most wear with cracked tiles, some mold and mildew built up in the corners, and metal corrosion on faucets. The wood trim in the rooms has also suffered from humidity and general deterioration in a tropical climate. Bed was comfortable and the pillows were quite good too.

Sadly, the staff is very disinterested in remedying problems which arose. The phone in the room where our teenagers stayed did not ring when we would call. I brought it to the attention of the office staff the first night and it was never repaired. Fortunately our rooms were next to one another although not adjoining. We had a terrible time trying to book a reservation for the sit-down restaurant. They have a terrible communication problem between the restaurant management and the front desk. You are told different things at the two locations and it becomes almost impossible to get a table. All I can say is good luck and keep trying. Several guests had the same problem regardless of whether they spoke French or not. Seems that there could be an easy solution to this problem if they cared to fix it. You simply got the sense that after another 6 days, you'd be gone so they didn't need to take your concerns seriously. Kind of unfortunate considering that there are lots of inclusive resorts in the Caribbean from which to choose.

The new Chef du village is an American from Florida. He is young and inexperienced but has potential. He does have a bit of a "frat boy" persona, having graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in public relations. He would do well to consider taking down his Facebook page or updating it to better represent how he wishes to be considered in this Village. In encounters with him, he comes across as entitled and quite obsequious, and was not as visible as other Chiefs we have encountered during our other Club Med vacations to this and other resorts.

We will probably return in the future as we live in Florida and is extremely easy to drive to Miami and fly over. It would be nice to see the rooms get a facelift. Either that or downgrade to a 3-Trident level and decrease the price.

Terrific resort. The beach is beautiful, long and astonishingly clean. Superb selection of food. Friendly staff. The tennis team needs to be highlighted - they're friendly, enthusiastic, very savvy in terms of coaching, maintain the courts in great shape - and they're so welcoming to everyone regardless of experience, skill level, language, nationality, age, whatever.

Our first time to Columbia Isle Club Med, second time to one of their prop. We went to Turkoise last year and lived the concept.
The Bahamas location is superior in rooms, second restaurant (La Pinta), and beach bar. Having said that it looks like Turks & Caicos Resort just got a big renovation so that will change things favourably for them.
Same wonderful spirit of GOs. Great food.
Turkoise have the very best beach though, TCI is amazing.

Room Tip: Room 537 ground floor had amazing ocean view
