“A perfect place to chill out”
Reviewed 25 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Peace perfect peace. Just us and the sheep and clean Scottish air. A welcome pack and lots of condiments and herbs provided for our stay should we wish to use the amazing kitchen facilities.
If, like me, you are a reader the conservatory is light and comfortable and inviting.
No need for extra layers with two log burners and central heating.
Hawick only 15 minutes away with major super markets and quirky shops.
For rest and recuperation this is hard to beat. Midge McGee

“Absolutely brilliant”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

I highly recommend this cottage. The house looks fantastic, has everything you need. We felt like home away from home. Beds are really comfortable, the kitchen was big and modern, and I personally loved the little conservatory facing the garden. Brilliant to chill and gaze at the views.
Really quiet, in the middle of nowhere.

The house is spacious and still cosy. Many extra points for the conservatory with many glass windows, and the big deck.
The view on the Scottish hills is fabulous.
For shopping you have to do some riding, to Hawick or Peebles, but especially Peebles is worth a visit.
The air is pure (no dirty nails). Internet and wifi are weak, so you can always give that as excuse for your lack of reaction.

Management Response

Thanks for your feeback, we are glad you enjoyed the fresh air and views! Unfortunately British Telecom have not been very helpful and they won't invest in upgrading our internet line. We are currently investigating satellite broadband internet as an alternative and will let you know the result of that. We know that even those of us who want to get away from it all still expect reliable, always on wifi. Also, we got a new frying pan for your sausages next time you visit! :)

“Perfect break!”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and this is the best place to unwind. The cottage is very cosy and it offers you a breathtaking view of the hills and the plains when the sun rises in the morning. Its facilities are fully equipped, giving you no reason to leave unless you need to replenish your groceries or to take a walk to enjoy the beautiful landscape.

“I can't get over how much I loved it here”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Our trip to Deloraineshiel and the Scottish Borders exceeded all our expectations. The cottage is immaculate and every detail had been considered. It has obviously been recently and sympathetically renovated. The appliances are all new and start of the art. The furnishings are of a high quality and not the typical mass produced stuff. The owners looked after us very well, giving us a tour of the cottage on arrival and showed us how everything worked. They had lots of recommendations about the area and plenty of entertainment at the house for those days when we didn't feel like leaving.
The local area is just stunning. The views are immense and stunning but yet so quite and peaceful. There are plenty of walks that start at your front door if you don't feel like venturing out.
We were sad to leave after a week but our already looking forward to our next visit.
