We stayed for just a short break at the cottage and it provided everything we needed for our weekend. The owners were very helpful - doggy towel and biscuits very kind.
Have to be very honest and say the only downside for us was the stairs - the open treads were slightly scary - and would sadly prevent us from booking again.
Otherwise, great location and very nice, welcoming little cottage.

This is a lovely little house on three levels. It was extremely conveniently located for the train station, the town as well as walking, especially along the scenic canal. I enjoyed bakewell tarts from the Bridge bakehouse and the off licence is well stocked.
Really lovely little place, very enjoyable holiday, no negatives other than that we struggled with the heating but the fire compensated for that issue, so lovely to have that! Everything was clean and well presented - thank you!

Sweet little place - in the middle of the village therefore easy for food shopping. Excellent Indian restaurant close by Zayka. 'Chippy also close (two doors away) hence smell of frying most of the time. Lovely walks and great for dogs.
Cottage is a bit awkward as kitchen and bathroom right at the bottom of the house - but details explain that.
One tip though ladies take your own hair dryer - amazingly this is not supplied!
We stayed for one week at this cottage and upon our arrival was greeted with a bottle of wine and bag of chocolates waiting for us on the table. Luckily for me, my fiancee isn't too keen on wine, so I ended up drinking most of, I hate to waste things!!!
The cottage itself was cosy, well furnished and clean throughout, in a great location too. Well within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and takeaways, the train station just across the road with an hourly service to Buxton in the south and Manchester to the north, the town is also well served by buses. So great if you don't fancy doing much driving, if you're prepared to drive to a few places then there are so many places within an easy drive, we personally drove to Chester Zoo and Alton Towers ourselves, though a quick scan through the brochures in the welcome pack will show you there's a lot more to do in the area.
We can't fault the place, lovely cottage and friendly locals, glad we discovered it!
