Food here was okay. Nothing special and the staff were quite quick to get us in and out. Nothing special but makes a change from chain restaurants.

This restaurant shows absolutely no understanding of customer service. After booking earlier we arrived for our table at the correct time to be told by a very brusque manager that it wasn't ready yet. Fair enough on a busy Saturday night, if it weren't for the fact that we were left standing at the bar for at least 10 minutes with an empty table for two behind us. Other customers were instantly seated and no apologies were offered to us.

When the manager finally noticed us again he offered us the empty table we had been standing next to all along with no apology for our wait. This table was clearly not desirable or surely we would have been seated there all along. It was in a corridor next to the door that kept opening and closing on an icy night. We said we weren't happy with this. He replied that was all he could do and we would have to wait 15 minutes for another table - around half an hour past the time of our booking.

The food may be good, we don't know as we left to go elsewhere at this point, but the service was truly appalling, particularly for a local restaurant that must rely on the goodwill of residents to keep going. A real shame as we will not be going back despite living nearby. A more friendly, apologetic manner would have made all the difference, it was the total lack of regard for us that really upset us both.

We went here yesterday for a Valentines special meal and it was beyond amazing. We had a beautiful three course meal which was up to perfect standard and we were greeted by attentive and friendly staff and the owner as well and a glass of prosecco each which was a lovely addition.
One of my all time favourite restaurants!

We had lunch here a few days ago and the food was excellent. Medium-rare steak cooked to perfection, deep-fried brie for starter. Price for three two-course meals and a drink each came to much less than expected. We will definitely be back.
