I stayed for 3 nights at Kenny’s B&B and had a pleasant stay overall. The lodge provided airport transfer, which they notified me with the information via email as soon as I booked my stay. Once we arrived at the lodge, we were directed to the restaurant where we had coffee or tea as we waited for the briefing and to get our room information. Some people who stay here also book tours directly with them. I decided to just book a room and book my tours directly with the park office instead.
I stayed in a simple fan room with private bath & shower with no hot water, which suited my needs since I spent most of my time at Mulu National Park anyway.
Electricity here is only available from 6pm – 1am daily, so plan to charge batteries and electronics accordingly. Also, with the fan not working during the day due to lack of electricity, it will get too hot in the room, so plan to sit & hang out on the balcony instead or at the restaurant.. that is if you don't plan to go to the Park that day.
There is no wifi here and if you do get data signal, it is weak and limited. If you get a DiGi sim card, like I did, please note that that signal does not work here in Mulu.
Breakfast, served from 7am-8:30am, is quite plentiful with coffee or tea, juice, rice, noodles, sausage (sometimes), bread / jam / butter, and eggs. If eating lunch or dinner here, you need to advise them well in advance as service & choices are very limited. You can buy drinks & water here, but if you have a choice, I suggest buying water at Mulu Nat’l Park instead as it’s more expensive here at the lodge.
To get to Mulu National Park from Kenny’s B&B, you can pay MYR5 to have them drive you to Mulu Nat’l Park, which is less than a 10min ride away. Or you can opt to walk 20-30mins in the hot, humid weather and under potentially some heavy rain. For pick up, you can ask security at the park to give them a call, which is what we did when we ended up staying later in the evening at the park. Just make sure you get their card & contact info before leaving.
