If you are interested in the rainforest and nature, Mulu is somewhere you have to go! We stayed 3 nights and that was a good amount of time as there are MANY walks and guided tours. Make sure you go to the bat exodus and the cave walks. Just ask the helpful staff at Park HQ and they can explain it all. You can pay by card for activities and accomodation at Park HQ, but the Mulu Cafe is cash only.

Had an amazing time here! The guides are especially helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable - Ismail and Nimrod were incredible! Highly recommend their services. Try to meet with them ahead of time to discuss what you would like to do.

I really enjoyed the experience of getting close to nature in Mulu National Park. I stayed in a deluxe garden bungalow, which is well suited to guests getting wet and muddy all day. There's a wet room with separate toilet and shower. A minute walk from the tour meet point and the restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and there is a fan and Aircon in the room. There is a laundry service and hair dryers available for a deposit through reception. The reception is also the same as the National Park and the place to go for tour bookings. But I recommend booking tours over email in advance. There is a small shop if ( like me!) you forget essentials like a torch, rain poncho or dry bag.

Breakfast is included and vouchers are provided by reception on check-in. The restaurant food is good quality but a little expensive for Malaysia. There is a great view of the river.

Transport to and from the airport is by private taxi for a small fee. The taxi drivers meet travellers at the airport exit ( the airport is very small) and the security point at the National Park will call to arrange the return journey.

The only point of improvement I wish to highlight is that as an independent traveller, I had to pay my deposit through a bank transfer from my UK bank account. Which involved large bank fees. It would be helpful if particularly international travellers could pay on credit card.

Overall I highly recommend this accomodation as a place to explore Mulu National Park.

We spent 5 days in the National park! We booked all our tours and everything through Mulu Park and found it all to be an amazing time!!
We were the first ones back to visit the park and stay since after the covid lockdown- the park was in very good working order- staff were looked after and very welcoming. So impressed with the whole organisation and the management of this place!! It was exceptional!

We stayed in the Garden Bungalow, with aircon and hot water and our own private balcony, it was absolutely beautiful and luxury in the jungle!! We spent 3 nights in this room. Breakfast was included. We then could buy our meals in the restaurant there- the food was so fresh and the staff so nice! They catered to us being vegetarian too! Portions were a great size!

We also arranged our trekking with Mulu Park. Usually they don’t provide a guide for the first half of your journey to Camp 5 where we stayed 2 nights. But we were so lucky have Peter, our guide who was with us the whole time. Usually you walk in through the flat and easily marked 9km trail from the river to Camp 5 (very safe to do this on your own) and then the guides take you from Camp 5 up to the pinnacles or other trails in the area.

We did the pinnacles- AMAZING! And again we loved our guide Peter who led the way. We were in great company! Thanks Peter!

Swimming in the river at Camp 5 was absolute bliss! It is a full set up kitchen- so make sure you carry in fresh food that you can cook. There is nowhere to shop in Mulu, so fly in your eggs, bread, rice, veggies, noodles, whatever you feel like cooking for your meals for the 2 days.
There is a shop in Mulu Park that sells tuna, biscuits, chips and noodles which you can carry and cook- but I think you might need more than that.

The caves in Mulu park and the knowledge of the guides were fantastic!! I have seen a lot of caves around the world- and these were mind blowing!! What a natural wonder of the world!!

I can’t wait to bring my family back here for a visit again- it was an awesome visit! Thanks to all the staff at Mulu Park for their care and passion. It was amazing to learn about the Penan tribes living there and their history and home in Mulu! A special mention to Sukie, who shared with us his story and helped us to understand the beauty and importance about the Penan people. Thank you everyone! We feel so lucky to have visited!

We stayed here 2 nights, the accommodation is fine, lovely big bathroom. Bed comfortable and clean. Kettle in room but no drinking water you need to buy it at the shop. Food is ok, great walks and lots to see. Night walk is good, we explored the caves but alas no bats were seen over the 2 evenings. Lots of frogs.
