Description: Located in historic Bathsheba on the rugged east coast of Barbados, Round House has been a popular destination for locals and visitors for 150 years. With a colorful history as a train stop and longtime private residence, Round House today is one of the island's most beloved landmarks. The property offers commanding views of the Atlantic coastline, a panoramic vista of the iconic limestone rocks and thundering waves of Bathsheba, and an undisturbed stretch of beach studded with natural tidal pools just above one of the world's premier surf spots. Our bed-and-breakfast inn offers five architecturally-unique guest rooms, with unparalleled views and historic features intact throughout the completely original building. Our bustling restaurant uses only simple, fresh, locally-sourced ingredients for our menu served daily inside our dining room or outside on our decks overlooking the Atlantic, where you can put up your feet and unwind with one of the best views on the island.

i stopped by this restaurant after seeing good reviews on tripadvisor. however i found it to be just average. the view is obviously the main selling point, but i expected the food to be above mediocre. for the cost, half cooked french fries and lettuce with olive oil was a shock. quiche was really good. the staff was extremely friendly. i think there are better places to spend so much money on food. theres also not a ton of other things to do in this area so i wouldn't go out of your way to come here.

We were a twosome and arrived shortly after opening for lunch on a weekday. We were seated at the best table on the patio and the view was perfect. The service was prompt and food good. We both had a fish sandwich with fries. The fish was marlin and ok, but the roll was beautifully soft and fresh and fries freshly cut and perfectly fried. We were lucky to get this table and this added to our overall great experience.

I really hate to speak ill of such a charming place, and I'm quite willing to believe that many people have had a far better experience here than we did. We had a reservation, and it was very busy when we arrived, but our table was there waiting for us to be seated. It took some time for our order to be taken and then our wait for food was in the neighborhood of an hour and a half. When our hot food was finally served it had obviously been sitting waiting to be brought out for some time. The fish in my fish sandwich was cold and the fries were overcooked, cold, and certainly not something I would eat, This was compounded by some rudeness from our waitperson. I.t certainly seems that there should have been more than two servers, so who knows what may have happened but it was unfortunate for us.The view from the table was beautiful, and I don't know of a better place on that part of the island

Arrived to an empty restaurant at 7:30 ish ... shown to a miserable table by a half opened shabby door so asked to move which the waitress happily obliged. Others started to slowly arrive. Shared a coconut shrimp starter (5 between 2 of us) def should have had as main course. Chose the catch next (marlin) was just ok, no sauce plain but seasoned well ...but veg was uninspiring and mash fine but other choice ie the fries awful .... soggy and undercooked and no presentation as thrown on the plate. A bottle of wine and then the bill over 200 BD$ .... a disappointing experience though service pleasant. Locals have since informed us they never go. Such a shame as little competition but The Atlantis beats it in every way. In any other location I can’t see how this restaurant would survive ...
