Four of us went on an all day excursion with Teresa and Charles which exceeded our expectations! They were so gracious and very informative. Learned a lot about mangroves and how vital they are to the ecosystem.
Charles and Teresa took us to see the swimming pigs, to gorgeous sandbars, through a channel searching for marine life….. saw loggerheads, green turtles, an eagle ray, lemon shark, starfish….. amazing!!
To add to the Robinson Crusoe vibe, we were served a terrific meal on a secluded cay. Teresa’s coconut tarts were an absolute delight!
Just a totally memorable day. We started as strangers…. but ended as friends… who I hope to connect with again on a future trip to Long Island.
Hi Lori!
Thank you for your very nice review! We did have an amazing day! The Eagle rays got the wildlife safari off to a nice start and from there we saw lots of the sea animals we had hoped to find!
Love the “Robinson Crusoe vibe!” It takes us back to getting away from it all and experiencing a day of amazing nature!
We are happy to have met all of you and look forward to a continued friendship! We hope you find your way back to Long Island soon!
Take care and all the best!

We did the "wildlife safari" day with Charles and Teresa, and it was truly spectacular. We saw turtles, stingrays, sharks, starfish, conch, and more, learned about the mangroves and sponge cutting, stopped by to see the swimming pigs (and got to hold a piglet), and had a delicious lunch on an amazing, beautiful deserted beach, including the best fish I have ever tasted in my life. Throughout, Charles and Teresa were warm, informative, relaxed, and kind -- perfect hosts. We felt completely safe with them and enjoyed every minute. They even met us at the airport to deliver the beautiful conch shell we'd found that day, and it was like seeing old friends. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Hello Djocelynh,
“In a heartbeat” Thanks so much : )
We enjoyed meeting you all and had a truly amazing day! There are a lot more great times to have on Long Island. We’ve only skimmed the surface! We appreciate so much your review and look forward to your return in the future!
Take care and all the best!

Wonderful day at Long Island - clearly knows the area well and kept us safe. Fantastic lunch (get the ribs!) on a gorgeous deserted island and then we added on fishing - caught strawberry grouper and trigger fish enough for dinner - cleaned it for us - if you tell them ahead they would actually make dinner for you also - highly recommend and you will have a memorable day!
Hi Laura!
Thanks for the great review! We had an awesome day. There’s nothing like catching that first fish on the Bahamian yo-yo! Once you get it you’ve got everyone after.
We hope you return to Long Island soon. There is a lot more to see and do!
Stay safe and all the best until next time!

We hired Bahamas Discovery Quest to take us on a full day tour - and it was our favorite day of our entire trip! Our 17, 15, 13, and 10 year old all agree: even though the weather was uncharacteristically wet and windy and chilly. We still got to see the mangroves, go swimming with the wild pigs (& the piglets!), do the traditional Bahamian yoyo fishing, find Conch and starfish, and have the most delicious BBQ lunch on a private beach.
Definitely hire them - their knowledge of the local ecosystems is fascinating, and they navigate the best areas to keep all the kids & adults interested and engaged. But really, they are so kind — the kind of guide you hope you get on any tour! Made us feel so welcome! We can’t wait to come back.
Hi Cruiser!
Thank you so much for your review! It was most definitely the coldest day we have ever gone out! The open fire for cooking our BBQ helped warm the day!
We remember the happy faces and the excitement was a “10” for sure! We hope you do plan a longer trip in the near future. There is a lot more to see and do on Long Island!
Take care and we wish you all the best!

Our day on the water with Teresa and Charles was the highlight of the trip for my family of 5! Our kids, ages 17, 14, and 11, had a blast exploring and learning about the mangrove-lined Snakes, seeing rays, sharks, turtles and starfish up close, visiting the pigs, and exploring untouched islands and sand bars. Teresa and Charles are so knowledgeable, kind and warm and made everything perfectly tailored for our group. We had a delightful cookout lunch on the beach. All the communications with Teresa leading up to our day trip were great. Would give 10 stars if I could. Definitely a must-do for anyone visiting Long Island!
Thank you so much Dan K.! It was great to see everyone enjoy the wildlife. The kids were brave in their jumping out to see the starfish!
Thank you so much for bringing your family to Long Island! We hope you will return soon!
We wish you all the best!!

We couldn't have been happier to book 2 days with Theresa and Charles. We were 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 9, 7 and 4). Charles is born and raised on Long Island and Theresa has been there 22 years so they really know their stuff. We did one full day on their boat and they went everywhere we requested - swimming with pigs, seeing the "snakes", reef fishing and snorkeling. The boat has a bimini top so there was plenty of shade, and we caught plenty of grouper and snapper to cook for dinner back at our hotel that night after Charles fileted them for us at the dock. We even caught a shark, which of course, the kids loved.
The next day we all piled into the roomy cab of Charles' truck and did the land tour. Again, they took us everywhere we wanted to go and then some. We saw a shrimp hole, old churches, visited Hamilton Caves, Dean's Blue Hole (and other blue holes), a natural lazy river where we had a gorgeous picnic lunch, a pineapple farm and learned all about what life is like living on a remote island.
What's probably the MOST important thing is that my kids did not complain or whine once. They never asked when we were going to be done and go back to the hotel. I'm not kidding - not even one time!!! They said the tours with Charles and Theresa were the best part of their trip. I HIGHLY recommend them if you really want to get out and explore the island. They really tailor the experience to your requests and make it happen all while being safe and taking tons of pictures for us and sending them to us afterwards.
Hi Dreamer!
Wow! Thanks so much for the great review! We had a blast and the kids made it so much fun to see their smiles and excitement!
We really enjoyed the two days! There is a lot more to see and do so write on your calendar, “must return to Long Island in 2024!”
As the kids get older we have diving conch and lobster when the season is open! Fishing competitions are always top listed! The pineapples are ripe in June and July!
Thanks again! We’ll be right here!
Wishing you all of life’s best!
