Avoid Southern Air at all costs. Nightmare trip to/from Nassau with Southern Air costing us a day of vacation and nearly a missed flight home. We don’t think it had any planes since we ended up on other carriers both flights. Hours and hours of delay with no information or outright lies. Be warned.

Probably one of the best places ever. Just returned and can't wait to go back. I love that the island is so natural and untouched. You will need to rent a car which wasn't a big deal. I have been twice now and summers are hot but nice and winter is in the 70's to 80's and can be breezy. Stayed in Coconut Bay

Long island is a beautiful out island! Wonderful people and great beaches! Flew in from Cat Island after a week there & spent a week on Long island. Would recommend Marty Fox with Island Wings for private charter. Recommended excursions would be-
Deans blue hole, Columbus monument, Cape Santa Maria beach Max's Conch shack.
Recommended restaurants- Stella Maris resort & moonstone bar, Cape Santa Maria resort, Eagles nesting, Tiny's hurrican hole & check out the busted bridge bar & grill, the owner is awsome!The hilltop market in the middle of the island is a geat place to buy groceries. Rent a car as everything is spread out and you will need it.

My family loves Long Island. It’s grown a bit in the eight years since our last visit. But still a laid back place with friendly people and incredible remote beaches.
We wanted to give a shout out to
Fiona’s Sweet Treats and Catering.
Fiona is a nice lady and an excellent cook. We stayed at an AirBNB in the Stella Maris area. Fiona brought meals to our house three times. Each meal was better than the last. Fresh fried fish, peas and rice, Mac and cheese were all so good. Our best meal on the island was her curried fish and rice, conch fritters, coleslaw and steamed vegetables. Highly recommend you give Fiona a try. You can reach her at 242 557 1222. You won’t regret it!

Please do not come here and tell everybody how great it is! I want to keep coming back and have it stay just as it is...so perfect. Just kidding, go visit and enjoy...We have been three times in two years, and plan to keep coming back.
