We have visited Kirkby house several times and have taken friends. The food is always excellent and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. It is good value for money and we would happily recommend it.

This has to be the best ‘Roast’ I’ve had for a while; My meat was tender and tasty, Roast Potatoes were fluffy inside and crispy out! Yorkshire was homemade. Veg was perfectly cooked! And the “Gravy” was probably the best I’ve tasted! Not forgetting the large piece of crisp pork crackling! We all agreed it was lovely! Service was stretched a little but it was full house, being Mothering Sunday! I will be back very soon! Not forgetting finishing off with an ample cheese board!

Loved it, the staff and owners were so friendly. Stayed in the jacuzzi room, how relaxing was that, even my husband said so. Check in was painless and informative. The bar shouldn't open till 6.30 but they will open it early for guests. The food was fabulous, we definitely recommend the pies, lasagne, steak and salmon. We are looking forward to going back to try some more of the menu. Breakfast was very good, although it isn't included but with the rooms being so inexpensive that's fine. Hoping to go back October time. Thanks for a great weekend.

Room Tip: Go for the jacuzzi

The place was lovely. The food, the staff, the room was brilliant. Cannot fault anything about the place and can't wait for our return. Even the bed was comfy and I struggle. Lots of comfort. I hope we can come and stay for Malory.

Room Tip: Massive double room. Jacuzzi bath and his and hers sink

Booked last minute & was not disappointed. The weather was bad and as a single female traveller friendly helpful staff is a massive bonus. The staff were amazing and I do not say that lightly.

The room was in the ‘attic space’ very large bathroom and spacious room. Had everything I needed and the bed was comfortable with tea & coffee. A hairdryer was much appreciated (didn’t know whether there was one as booked last minute). The room & bathroom was very clean, with plenty of towels.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 evening meals with a good selection on the menu and at very reasonable prices.

The bar was friendly with fellow guests and a good choice.

The most outstanding part of my stay, which had to be extended by a night due to the poor weather conditions, was by far the brilliant staff. Thank you!
