We stayed at the Krabi Resort with a group of friends. Despite the pictures we saw on many of the hotel's market, these are only reflective of the pool villas and not the entire offerings the resort has on offer. Whilst our group stayed in both the pool villas and the "L" pool access rooms, we found the service to be quite limited on both.
Starting out with the check-in. Whilst the check-in was quick and professional, there was a lot of confusion. We were told to park and off-load our luggage at the lobby. Upon knowing where we would be staying at, we had to reload our luggage and drive to the parking and unload our luggage again.
Be extra careful with the words "pool access". These units are not pool access where you literally have the pool reaching directly to your room's deck or balcony but rather multiple clusters of rooms would face into the concrete area where the pool is located in the middle of that area. There really is no real pool access at this property.
The pool villas were amazing though. Not only that they are not as dated as the pool access rooms, they were full of amenities. There were Nespresso machines, two television sets, and a humongous bathroom. If you had to stay here: make sure you stay in one of these pool villas--strictly.
Breakfast is okay but very Thai and very limited. The egg stations would not make any other kinds of eggs for you but fried eggs. There were also pre-made scrambled eggs and boiled eggs for you. A few more Thai selection were available. There was no real butter here. Just margarine--(i.e. fake butter).
Service: quite limited. For a resort style hotel, I would expect the hotel to be ready when a guest request for a bucket of ice. But no, they didn't have both the ice and the bucket. So we had to make use of 7-Eleven delivery service for ice on all nights that we stayed there.
The hotel has the gym on site but it's very dated and very basic. Thankfully, there is a fantastic gym just across the road called Heroic.
So far, for the price we paid I think everything was reasonable. Pool villas were definitely value for money but just for the property. Don't expect much from the breakfast, food or service. Again, my suggestion: only choose the pool villas.
