...about this hotel but a couple of negatives.
Firstly, we have to say how good every single member of staff we encountered was. Who ever is responsible for their training sees revs to be congratulated. Check in was speedy and handled very professionally and given the current health scare, included a temperature check. We had to wait a short while for our room to be ready but that didn't really matter. We have to say that we thought our room was really in need of some refurbishment and modernisation. Dark wood furniture that had certainly seen better days and curtains that could be described in the same way. On the positive side, the large bed was extremely comfortable! The room included a fridge with mini bar, hairdryer and umbrella with the usual toiletries in the bathroom. Unfortunately, when we returned to our room later our key card wouldn't work and as there was clearly a fault, we had to be transferred to another room. This didn't take long and was also handled very professionally by reception staff. One point we would like to make is that as the room was designated as non smoking, why was there an ashtray on the balcony?
After a good nights sleep we eagerly anticipated our breakfast and wow! What a superb meal it was with a wide choice of Thai, Indian and western/continental foods. For the first time ever in a Thai restaurant( and we have eaten at many), there was a notice concerning allergy advice. The Thai foods were authentic and delicious as were the Indian dishes. A good bread selection, fresh fruits, cheeses and an endless supply of coffee were available.
One other negative feature was the size of the car park. We were fortunate that there was one space available as I'm not sure where else parking would be possible.
There is no doubt that this is a very good hotel and as we were only there for one night, we didn't have time to take advantage of the very inviting pool and other facilities.
We think that if the rooms were refurbished, a very good hotel would become an excellent one.
