Great little hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 26 Mar 2019via mobile
This hotel was the prefect base for us for a couple of days. Good location with lots of restaurants nearby and bus stop opposite.

The room was simple and clean. Bathroom was one of the best we’d had in Thailand with a decent shower.

Breakfast was made to order and had a good choice of drinks.

Staff were so helpful and couldn’t of done anymore. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a lovely place to stay in Ao Nang.

Stayed here one night on the way to Ko Lanta. Good value for the price; simple rooms, breakfast pretty basic, location good enough (10-15 min walk to the beach and many restaurants nearby). Service was very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for a night or two.

If you want a friendly place to stay, in what appeared to be a safe area about 10-15 minutes walk down to Ao Nang beach and the shops then this is a great little rest stop on your journey. I highly recommend walking down to Ao Nang beach to take in the sunset it's absolutely gorgeous and a sight to see. All tour companies collected me from this location without any problems locating it (as not all tour companies will travel to Krabi Town). The staff were lovely, the room was a bit worn in, pillows were very uncomfortable, vegan/ vegetarian/ gluten free breakfast options were sparse and there were no extra facilities on site apart from an extra bathroom when you check out. Free wifi and night time tea. Guess I would say that the best part of my stay at Mini House was the staff and the location.

Room tip: I stayed on the top floor which was quite and felt more secluded if you fancy a bit of privacy.

After travelling over from Railay beach we needed somewhere that was clean, budget friendly and close to town. This ticked all the boxes.

We arrived slightly before check in and was greeted by a lovely man whose English was great! All the staff friendly and smiley. We were then taken to the room.

- It was big, clean and looked great. Right above the reception in the main building.
- Didn’t have any mini bar or kettle but this wasn’t a problem for us.
- Air con was great
- shower lacked power but towels and bathroom were nice and clean.
- Had a big drier outside for wet clothes etc!
- For the price we paid it was perfect.

We then decided to book in for another night!

Unfortunately after a comfy night sleep we were woken up very early by the noise coming from downstairs. You could hear a lot of noise from chairs moving/doors closing. Then.... building work! The two rooms next to ours were clearly having some work done and the workmen arrived early and weren’t quiet! Drilling and banging around, there was certainly no lie in or relaxing!

What a shame!

we loved it so much that we extended our stay! the service staff were super hospitable and even offered to pack us sandwiches for breakfast on days we had to leave early. rooms were super clean, complimentary bottled water provided everyday, close to the convenience store and shops/restaurants, I would totally come back here again. The beds were super comfortable, not too soft like some other places but not too firm for those who dislike hard beds.

Side-note, its a good 15 min walk to the beach but since the beach isn't that fantastic to be frank, you're really not missing out much. For a chill beach dayout, I'd recommend driving up to Klong Muang Beach but there's definitely more activities / shopping / bars / dive shops / amenities at Aonang itself.

It's located on a slightly steep slope so if you have trouble walking this might be a slight issue. Wifi connection could be weak sometimes and the water pressure in the shower could have been better but besides that, we have no complaints whatsoever.

Room tip: super accessible, breakfast provided, excellent lattes, complimentary wifi and evening tea
