Owner description: Roughly translated as "the snorter," this underwater cave regularly sucks in sea water and spits it out the cave's top drenching visitors to the site.

We stopped at La Bufadora on a cruise stopover it was the best. The blowhole, the scenery, the atmosphere and the music as well as the vendors. I found buying in town cheaper than the vendors out there especially when it came to leather.
Great place. Beautiful view of the sea.

We took a cruise with Carnival to Ensenada with our kids who are 12 and 14. First off, Carnival was awesome and we highly recommend their cruises. Second, if you are going to La Bufadora don't bother booking a shore excursion with Carnival. They want almost 40 bucks to take you there. Once you get off the ship there are buses there waiting to take you into town. It was only a 5 or 6 block walk but we thought it was worth the $4 for each family member to ride and get a short glimpse of the city. From there you can buy excursions from a local company. We spent $17 a person to take us to La Bufadora with a guide. Once we got there we had about an hour and 20 minutes to walk around. The vendors are pretty pushy but if you say no thanks they don't bother you. I made the mistake of wearing a Rams shirt and was accosted by every guy there to come into their shop and see all thier Rams stuff. DONT wear pro team shirt! The good thing was many of the shop owners offered us free tequila. We paid for everything with US dollars. Just make sure you haggle to get the best prices. There is also a bar/restaurant called Habana Banana where you can let or play with lion, panther, and tiger cubs for a price. At the end of the long street of vendors is La Bufadora. It was amazingly beautiful with a few street performers wanting your tips. Bring some ones.

La Bufadora was the highlight of our cruise ports on this trip. The blowhole is a must see and the drive there which is 45 minutes is enjoyable. Our guide was very interesting and told us about the culture, history and current news about Ensenada. There is shopping here and the vendors are a bit pushy but you expect that in Mexico. We ended up hanging out for quite a while watching the blowhole and taking lots of pictures . The views are amazing. We had some tacos from the shop at the front of the walk to the blowhole and they were delicious. Great day!

The blow hole was impressive but wading through the vendors was taxing at times. How many times can you say no thank you without getting asked the same question 20 sec later...

This is a wonder of the world. Only three in existence.
I grew up there every summer, in my younger days, so I was excited to see how much it had changed. And boy did it! I remember two restaurants, unlimited access, without walls and shops . It is a fun oplace to try their baked clams w cheese and shrimp, yummy!, Tequilla tasting, and visiting the rescued wild cats. We went with a private guide, and he showed us a fabulous time. One to go see
