The main exhibit displays the history of Baja California from the dinosaur age to around the setup of the new US Mexico border. The displays are in Spanish and English however side exhibits are solely in Spanish. Don't just come to take a picture of the dome that houses the IMAX theatre but go into the complex and spend a couple of hours, also go into the botanical gardens and have a stroll. There is a coffee shop and clean toilets. Entrance to the museum is free but there are charges for the IMAX.

Love the architecture and staff. The natural history portion is good, not great, but definitely worth seeing. The art exhibits are wonderful. I'll go again and again.

While visiting we decided spontaneously to visit CECUT to see a movie in the IMAX Theater. We were surprised to find that on that daythere was a celebration of the three holy kings on that day in Mexico where a special sweet bread is eaten traditionaly on that day called "Rosca" and that around the entire theatre there was a huuuuge rosca that was being given away. It was meters and meters long. It was atreat for the children as well as for us. We later went into the theatre and saw the most amazing movie about Baja California wildlife, specifically speaking sealife and littoral mammals, narrated by mexican scientists and wildlife experts. The takes were wonderful and the audio magnificent. The Theater was only half full. There is an Elevator for disabled guests which was good. Parking was private and easily accesible. Prices extremely reasonable. Did not have more time to explore the rest of CECUT. Definitely recommended.

I was in San Diego visiting and we all decided to go to Rosarita through Tijuana. It was a nice drive and we stopped at a fish restaurant for lunch. $7 a person and it was so tasty.

The history of Tijuana and Baja California is too interesting to present it in such a boring fashion. This museum could definitely make some low cost investment to modernize its collection by for example, having wifi and a website that visitors can access from inside the building and read/listen to a guided tour.
The building is beautiful, and there was a private painting collection being displayed that I could not find the name of its artist. I would still recommend for people to visit it, however, while doing so, I felt it would be better for me to google the story of Tijuana and Baja California and could get better info. Also, because of the items being shown, I think it could be interesting for kids.
