The hotel is being renovated but that has made it more laid back and not so busy. There is a pretty standard menu and drinks for all inclusive. It’s pretty close to restaurants and bars within walking distance if you don’t go that route. The staff was nice and the grounds are very well kept. The beach is awesome and well kept up despite being next to a public beach with a ton of foot traffic. The rooms are older but kept clean. It’s a nice hotel and great for a family trip. We had fun.
Take advantage of the City Tour. This is a bus tour with stop at Casa 46 which is an upscale restaurant owned by the family who owns the resort.
The owner of Bonito also owns the Emerald Bay resort. There is a shuttle where you can spend the day at this newer resort. Emerald Bay is very nice. However, we enjoyed the laid back feel of Bonito better. Emerald Bay was a little too stuffy and intense around the pool area. There are reserved areas for seats that are chained off and guys prevent you from moving seats. Take the one day tour of Emerald Bay but I suggest you spend most of your time at Bonito.More
