Slow checking in. Found room to be very outdated. Great location on the beach. Had to call at midnight for smoke alarm was going off. They removed the batteries. We Woke up to many bugs in both bathrooms. Complained to hotel front desk and asked housekeeper to take care of it. All to come back 5 hours later to large cockroaches and centipedes all over the kitchen and entranceway. When talking to front desk then sent a person down with a can of Raid. Really!! Spending 10 days in mazaltan and never seeing a bug in any of our rooms until Luna Palace. We walked out and checked into a clean hotel.

We booked into the Luna as our PB Mazatlan timeshare was used up. We were very pleased with our accomadations. From the moment we arrived until we checked out 2 weeks later, we were treated kindly and respectfully by everyone except perhaps the towel lady. However, she was off sick a couple of days so that may account for her lack of enthusiasm and smiles. We paid for a studio and received a suite #1001. We were a mere few feet from the oceans edge with a huge patio off the living room. Our bedroom with 2 double or queens had a window facing the ocean and a small patio as well, overlooking the pool area. We also had 2 bathrooms, each with a separate sink area and private HUGE glass shower and toilet. The unit also included a safe large enough for our laptop. Yes we had the annoying kitchen inventory and paid a deposit for the remote. (there were 2 tvs). We figure if they can keep costs down by doing this then we can put up with a little inconvenience. We ate breakfast twice at the onsite restaurant which was amazing......eggs, bacon, bulio buns, sweets, coffee for only $14 cdn for 2. Leo the front manager and Jesus and Jose the bellmen were always ready to give you a smile or a laugh. The bus stop is right outside the property. We never had to get up at sunrise to get a palapa and if there was no lounge chair available, the pool staff was always there to help you bring one down to the beach! We only encountered 2 things that we wish the Luna would change.....our front balcony was HUGE but there was only a couple of cheap chairs and side tables. It would have been great to have dining furniture. Also, our unit was located right next to the music man and we wish he would play music aimed at the clientel in the hotel and not teenagers who love mexican rap. LOL. Thanks Luna, we will be back!

Excellent location with rooms on ocean. Clean and equipped kitchenettes. Restaurant is good with many more within easy walking distance. Staff was wonderful and accommodating on all requests. Pool is clean as are the grounds.

Room tip: Request poolside or ocean front. No areas are noisy.

We (a party of five) needed to extend our two-week vacation to Mazatlán by two days to take advantage of a lower price for our return flight. Since the resort where we were staying was unable to accommodate our request, I contacted RCI for nearby hotels that offered daily reservations. The Luna Palace in the heart of the Golden Zone was recommended. We had a one bedroom suite that had two baths and enough beds for everyone. Our seventh floor room offered fantastic views and was immaculate upon check-in. There were two elevators so getting to and from our room was never a problem. Checking in and out was very efficient. The front desk and pool personnel were very polite, courteous and helpful. If needed, the front desk is very helpful in making arrangements for transportation to the airport. On our next visit to Mazatlán, we will definitely make reservations to stay at this hotel.

Room tip: The highest floors have the best views.
