The Blue Shrimp looks impressive with its beach front location. We went in for dinner and were so very disappointed with both drinks and food. I’m still kicking myself for not complaining and sending my food back. I had lobster and when it was brought to the table, had a really odd smell. Because there was a variety of food being delivered I thought maybe it was just the combination of smells. I ate 2 of the small lobster tails which tasted okay but definitely not fresh. When I went to take the last one off the shell, it was just mush and smelled gross.
My husband had the catch of the day which he said was not fresh at all and tasted very “fishy”.
The service was not great. We had to wait for someone to take our order for drinks which when delivered were incorrect. Just not the experience we had hoped for.

While in Puerto Vallarta we made it a point to eat at the Blue Shrimp restaurant. It is our second time there, we ate there in 2021 also. There are many great choices for dining in the area and we chose to return there. The food and service is great, the atmosphere is fresh and it is clean. Our party ordered the coconut blue shrimp, taco appetizers, shrimp tacos and shrimp Alfredo. I recommend it for a great lunch or dinner, I will return in the future for sure!

The location of this restaurant is excellent. Just off the Malecon and overlooking the ocean. The ambience is also very good. The food items we ordered were tasty. The downfall of the experience for us was the unexpectedly high prices for the drinks. We ordered margueritas (which were not really any different than any others we had had in PV). When we got our bill we were totally shocked that the price of a single drink was approx. 320 pesos! I guess we should have asked the pricing before we ordered, but never ever thought the price would be 3x as high as anywhere else! Buyer beware!!! If you go to this restaurant we would advise you to predrink next door where the drinks are a regular price.

The hospitality is UNMATCHED! 10/10 recommend. Let me explain…

My fiancé and I were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta during Super Bowl Sunday and decided to stop at The Blue Shrimp PV to watch as they were advertising the Super Bowl on a sign outside the restaurant. When we got inside there weren’t many tables left, and the booth that was open did not have a good angle of the TV to watch the game. We told the hostess that it was okay and proceeded to walk out. Pedro, who I believe was the manager, saw what happened and said he would make it work for us. What he did, we were not expecting. He organized his team to set up a table ON THE STAGE (where no one was seated) with a direct view of the TV! We were blown away by the hospitality and felt very special because no one else was near us and we were elevated on the stage. The service was exceptional. We were checked on almost every 5-10 minutes and everyone was super nice. The food and drinks were also delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Puerto Vallarta. Thank you Pedro and team for going above and beyond :)

Great views but prices were really expensive and service was not great. The dinner was expensive for what we had the staff keep encouraging to have extras with with every course. Only one of us had a starter it came out with the main meal and we hat to ask for the wine twice after ordering it about 20 minutes before which was also served with the main. After dinner because we were not interested in a sweet the staff made it obvious to try and get rid of us by bringing the bill over and clearing the table.When paying they insisted in paying a tip starting at 20%.
