Overall such a great hotel!
Located 5-minute drive from the airport. Every guest/vehicle has to pass security in order to get into the grounds. I was greeted warmly by the bell staff ("Welcome home"). The front desk staff, particularly Gullermo, were incredibly polite, helpful and really did make me feel "at home". The room was clean, updated and had incredible views of the pools and beach. The hotel has an up to date gym, store, and Starbucks. We ate at the Palmar Restaurant for both the breakfast buffet (great selection, great service, and great taste!) and dinner a la carte. The staff there, especially Maximino, were kind and polite.
The grounds are well-manicured, the many pools were clean, and the service at the pool was great, we never went without a beverage or snacks.
We were there for a wedding and the staff was attentive and wonderful overall.
I will 100% stay at the Westin again!
Thanks!

Note: When arriving at PV, do not speak to the Time Share people (unless you want a time share). You can request a cab from the counter of taxis right outside and pay a little bit, or if you want to save more money, exit the airport, cross the bridge and request a taxi there (much cheaper).

Room tip: I became a member of the Westin Starwood Preferred Guest. Highly recommend enrolling. Free Wi-Fi and upgraded rooms.

Quick getaway - three nights four days to Puerto Vallarta. First time at the Westin since the 90's. Very enjoyable: nice facilities, a great room and a well managed executive lounge. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was excellent. Internet is free for SPG members. Close to the airport and an easy bus ride or taxi to downtown and all the fun of the Malecon and old town.

Room tip: I always prefer a higher floor for the view. All rooms are facing the bay.

We went to PV for a long Memorial Day weekend and to start wedding planning (we are getting married in PV in fall 2018), with me, my fiance, and my parents. We selected the Westin because it is close to the Marina, where we were leaving for an excursion on Monday night. From the moment we arrived, our entire stay was amazing! The check in was very easy and everyone was so nice and accommodating. Our rooms had a great view of the pool and ocean. The beds were comfy and the shower was huge! We stayed in the Club Level so we were on the 11th floor. It was a great option because we got a complimentary breakfast every day from 7-11 and a complimentary happy hour from 5-8. We took advantage of these every day in the Club Room on Level 12. The pool area was relaxing. it was nice to have all of the palm tress for shade around the room. Watch out for the iguanas laying around the little islands of palm trees around the pool- they even slip into the water for a dip! We enjoyed the happy hour at the pool from 2-3 every day with buy one get one free drinks. We tried the restaurant out by the beach one night and the food was the BEST we had all week; lobster, shrimp, soup...all of it was amazing.
The only cons for the hotel were that we could hear people in the hallway in the morning pretty easy, the hotel was not busy and no one was sitting under the pergolas out by the ocean but we were told you had to pay to sit in those (but there were plenty of other chairs around that you could sit in anytime), & the floor got really wet and slippery if you opened the sliding door to the patio too long (from a combo of the heat and ac).
We had a wonderful vacation and we will be back!

Room tip: Get a room in the Club Level- breakfast included and the rooms are up on the 11th & 12th floors with great views!

This was a great get away for our sister trip. Great beach with bar and lunch service and hotel was close proximity to walking to the marina for dinner. The best restaurant by far was the 3ktrinas. Excellent sangria. If you want wifi at the hotel, forget it. This was the only negative. The charges for wifi in the room were ridiculous. The service was excellent and the happy hour from 2-3 was super.

Room tip: Pick a room up high for the incredible ocean views. You can watch the cruise ships come in and out of the port a little bit away.

My husband and I ended up here after we spent only 20 minutes at the hotel we originally booked. This hotel is large and feels very safe. The people are all very friendly. The rooms are nice and comfortable. They didn't have the room we booked on a whim after our first hotel felt very unsafe and run down. They kindly upgraded our room to a nicer one. The breakfast buffet is tasty and nice selection of both American and Mexican items. It is a bit pricey for the cost of other meals in Mexico. The pools were well kept and large. The beach isn't very nice. Lots of rocks and only a small roped off swimming area. The hotel location is kind of far from the markets and restaurant area although the restaurants at the marina are decent. Overall we would stay here again.
