For some folks, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is paradise. Beautiful beaches, all inclusive food, great service. On the whole, it's a beautiful resort with great employees.
That said, the food is fairly average. Besides the buffet, nothing tasted particularly well flavored or fresh. Contrasting this against the food in the city, or even the Oxxo up the street, this will become evident. The drinks were pretty average as well - no real top shelf drinks or specialty cocktails, but still plenty good enough to pass the day. Room service was good!
We were in a club suite double. It was amazing. Beautiful view overlooking the ocean and the amazing sunsets. It had a balcony and patio as well as a hot tub on the patio.
The number of activities at the resort are relatively limited. The jungle tour was an amazing, albeit short, excursion. The only water activities included were kayaks - and these ended pretty early in the day. So for most days, the major activity would be to sit in the pool or beach and enjoy the beautiful weather -- paradise for many, but not quite right for me.
I loved going to the Malecon, strolling down the board walk, eating at cafes, and seeing what was happening. A bit outside of the city, there were jungles, zip lines, and other organized activities to participate in as well -- which makes the all inclusive aspect a bit unnecessary. More
