First impressions go a long way... Azul y Oro Histórico and Azul y Oro CCU (at the UNAM Cultural Center) are good restaurants. Azul y Oro Ingeniería (also within the university campus) not so much. Or maybe they are all getting worse, since their creator and founder, multi-awarded chef Ricardo Muñoz Zurita is not around to supervise quality. Don't trust restaurants where the chef is not actually there to cook. All Azul y Oro restaurants are expensive and the food is not worth it. Or maybe some dishes.... I took cochinita pibil and couldn't finish with it. My last review on Azul y Oro was better because food was better on the other location, at CCU.

I remember going with all my universy friends here to enjoy good food by low prices. Student prices are gone but food is still good betyer than average.nice food for low price. Now the flavour is ok, but nothing special and the prices are "for working people". Chiles en Nogada are traditional prepared and the staff excellent. Nice place but need to improve a lot.

An amazingly good restaurant in the Cultural Center of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Open mostly for lunch (although breakfast is available, call ahead), the depth of selection, execution, and presentation of traditional and regional Mexican food is outstanding. If there is a shortcoming, it is that they have (as of December 2014) no beer, and only a limited selection of wines. When I visited, the Mexican region whose cuisine was featured was Tabasco State, but they also had their standards, including the incomparable black mole from Oaxaca. I must say that this particular mole negro was superior to what I have had in the most famous restaurant in Oaxaca City itself. Azul y Oro makes an excellent outing combined with a visit to the University's campus, or with a quick acclimatization climb up Volcán Ajusco, if you're in the country to tick off Citlaltépetl (Pico de Orizaba).

Excellent Mexican Restaurant ... maybe the best campus restaurant I have ever been to at a University ever.

The Mexican food is traditional with a flair! The quality and service are top notch and you cannot beat the scenery at CU!!!

This is a perfect place for enjoying the taste of part of the emblematic campus of National University (UNAM), not only with meals but the terrace with the wonderful view of the "Tang", an sculpture of Rufino Tamayo besides, music hall and theaters are few steps away, and the MUAC Universitary Museum of contemporary art which usually shows very good pieces.
Food sometimes can arrive a little bit chilled because of the winds... I think ... or maybe kitchen doesn't warm it up enough, that is true.
For drinking, you must consider they only serve wine, but very good ones.
