Description: SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL'S was created in 1972 by Rey Fernandez and his English wife Jane Pearson. They transformed a Tudor-style family mansion in Polanco into a well loved Restaurant that has become a famous landmark in Mexico City. Churchill's continues to amaze new customers as well as it's faithful clientele alike with the outstanding quality of it's food and a dedicated service for over 40 years. The delicious meals which include traditional favourites like Beef Wellington and Prime Rib of Roast Beef compete with the new daily specialities created by Churchill's talented Chef from France. A visit to Churchill's is an experience to be savoured as it is a true oasis in the very heart of Mexico City.

Sir Winston Churchill's is a classical restaurant which touches perfection. As it happens at Harry's bar in Venice or at Café de Paris in Monaco, everything is top quality. Tables are perfectly spaced, chairs are very comfortable. Fresh flowers please the eye. The red jacketed waiters are experienced enough to anticipate every need. And there is a pianist, which is great if you happen to be on your own, as it creates a good focal point between dishes.
Food is British traditional. As you were at Simpson's in the Stand. This is what I had and what I would warmly recommend: clam chowder (best in a quarter of a century), garlic steak ou gratin (delicious alternative to the Wellington beef, which is the strong suit of the House) and the fabulous Kafka cake (it is not in the menu or on the trolley, so you have to ask your waiter). I had two margherita to accompany the meal and left content and restored, as very few times in my life.

Ambiance is top notch...amazing for drinks in the sense you can find ANY drink you´re looking for, from Japanese whiskey to Guatemalan rum. Food is amazing too, I highly recommend the Beef Wellington. Place is huge and beautiful both in the outside gardens where you can have a drink and on the wood-clad interior where you can have dinner. Five stars all around for this antique house and restaurant.

This is an excellent, old school, fine dining restaurant. It’s located in a mansion in Polanco and has been in business since 1972. The dining rooms are beautiful and the waiters are all in uniform. I was in jeans with a collared shirt (as were other diners) and did not feel out of place at all amongst those that were in formal attire. We sat in the room with the piano player and music with the meal was a real treat. I started with the lobster bisque and then had the Beef Wellington for my main course. Both were perfecto. Service was outstanding and very, very friendly. There were several families here, so I would be comfortable bringing young children. While it’s a formal setting, the vibe is very warm and welcoming.

This is for our special celebrations and we went for St. Patrick’s Day yesterday. We were a group of nine with one elderly person in wheel chair and one ten year old. We received royal service, five stars all the way. Outstanding food. My spouse had the special St. Patrick’s menu of leeks with lamb stew as the main. Most chose Irish coffee after lunch. Even valet was so nice with us with the wheelchair. Super place, not cheap but worth it.

This restaurante has a nice english atmosphere and excellent cuisine. The menu has many options but you must try the kidney pay or the roostbeef which is excellent! If you care for dessert: La suppa inglesa is delicious.
The service is first class and beverages are many for every taste.
