The name of this property says it all as it is, indeed, the Best of Oaxaca, located on a quiet street but an easy (and flat) 15 minute walk to the historic central district and all the action and activities. The Merced Market is even closer and a great place to provision the fully-equipped kitchen which includes a microwave, toaster-oven and blender. Laundry service is just a block away with cheerful overnight turnaround.
My sister and I spent 3 lovely weeks here in October and would definitely return on our next trip to Oaxaca, the best place in all of Mexico to find high quality craftwork. Unlike so many of Mexico’s accommodations which are dark and gloomy inside with little ventilation, these 2 apartments are super light and bright thanks to the many large windows and skylights, including in the enlarged and newly remodeled bathroom which is quite luxurious.
Our host, William, was charming, delightful and very helpful with information, including a few of his favorite eating and coffee spots which soon became ours. And the amazing smells from Nora’s beautiful kitchen can work up an appetite in no time!
The rooftop garden was probably our favorite place with its stunning 270° mountain views, often with clouds spilling over into the valley. Quite a nice change from flat Yucatan and Florida where we live! We loved this comfortable apartment and its location and are already looking forward to our next craft-buying trip to Oaxaca, now that we know where to stay!
Oaxaca is a beautiful city - great food and attractions. The apartment was compact, easy to live in - and the roof top deck, covered with flowering plants ! It was all fabulous - so much that we are going back in 2018.
The Botanical Garden, the Zocolo, all the restaruants in Oaxaca - its a food lovers delight ! And such good art museums and fine crafts - too much to see and do in one trip. The prehistoric site Monte Alban, a short taxi ride out from the city, is more beautiful and interesting that the photos do not do show the extent of the site and it has a museum !
We just stayed a week in this great rental. It was exactly as pictured! The place was immaculately clean and well equipped. Good location within walking distance of many of the cities attractions. Handy to the market and many restaurants. Walking distance to the Zocalo.
The owners William and Nora are both very friendly and helpful offering suggestions for things to do and see. Nora is a tour guide and gives an excellent tour of local craft villages.
Nora also offers cooking classes. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to take advantage of this.

Thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city and surrounds from this well located small but comfortable apartment. It is very well supplied and clean. The bed was comfortable with an overhead fan, though at that time of year we did not have to use it. The apartment is off a very cool and verdant courtyard, filled with flowers that attract all sorts of birds, including the Wilson's warbler and blue grey gnat catcher. The kitchen appliances and utensils allow for most meal requirements. The wifi was fast when connected but often dropped out. Will and Nora are lovely people and really helpful hosts.
We enjoyed our 10-day stay in this attractive two-room apartment off the peaceful courtyard of the owners' home. It is not new or very spacious, but is well supplied and has nice touches of local decorative arts. It was a 15-20 minute walk to the zócalo and the main tourist pedestrian street, but we enjoyed exploring the many ways of getting places that the walks afforded. The owners speak excellent English and were very helpful in orienting us, getting taxis, advising places to visit and restaurants. Nora Valencia, the innkeeper's wife, offers cooking classes. Our plan to attend one fell through for personal reasons, but we could smell wonderful things cooking in the main house that day.
