It's a nice location for a stroll in the hot months of summer, it's great to go with family! They have a lot of curio shops.

Our hotel was smack in the middle of the Malecon so my wife and I grew very intimate with the pulse of this area. The Malecon reeks of history and contains interesting buildings, statues, cafes, and curio shops. It's where you can board the famous double-decker tour buses and the boats that tour the harbor.

I stayed at the Emporio, so I had a good view of everyone on the waterfront. Was very popular, but not much to look at. One night, there was a kid using a green laser to blind people (including me), so that wasn't fun.
Interesting buildings, Navy, Pemex, Emporio.

The Malecon is a great place to people watch and soak in the local music and culture which is unique to Veracruz. There are a multitude of restaurants and coffee shops with sidewalk café style seating. The adjacent park offers a different type of band or other entertainment every night of the week.
The setting is very colorful and rich with locals there to enjoy the cultural heart of the city. Many museums and historical sights are within an easy walking distance of the Malecon. Sit back, relax and enjoy the rich experience of song, food, and dancing!
