We spent 6 nights in a 1st level suite at Fiesta Americana. The food was good; we enjoyed the variety of options. The asian restaurant was my favorite. Staff was generally very friendly and helpful... they appreciate tips, only had one experience where a bartender was unkind seemingly because he was requiring a tip.

Snorkeling in front of the hotel is good. Walking to beach at nearby Money Bar and allowing the current to take you back to hotel is nice way to explore. We also really enjoyed snorkeling in the Corona Beach area (drove there).

We would go back to Fiesta Americana. It was a great value, generally kind people, and a relaxing time. Not sure we'll be back to Cozumel though... not our favorite island experience.

We just got back from 5 days at Fiesta Americana, and we all wish that we could have stayed longer. It is a small and quiet resort, but for us it was a great trip.

The reviews I read are pretty accurate, but here is a summary:

Rooms: We stayed in a master suite and it was amazing. It has a separate bedroom/bathroom and a living room with its own bathroom. We had 2 kids with us, and they brought a rollaway. The pull out couch/bed in the living room was very comfortable, more a bed than a couch. The girls thought having 2 bathrooms was amazing! (as did we...)
Beach: No real beach, although there are steps where you can walk in to swim/snorkel. We enjoyed both--lots of fish to see, and even if you don't snorkel, it was a very nice place to swim. Bring water shoes!
Pools: The pools are a little tired, but the kids loved them.
Beach chairs/beds: This resort woke up more slowly than others that we'd been to, and there were always chairs available. We did get a bed with shade a couple days, and it was a very comfortable way to spend the day.
Restaurants: More limited than other resorts we had been to, but the food was good. The a la carte restaurants didn't have a lot of ambiance, though.
Spa: I had a massage, and it was quite nice.
Staff: The service was amazing, and everyone both worked hard and smiled a lot.

We made some great friends while we were there, which made the trip even better. We wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Room Tip: While the first floor suites have a pool, higher floors have an ocean view.

This was my second year at Fiesta Americana Cozumel and it just gets better! The staff are genuinely warm and caring. Christian and Angelica, at the concierge desk, greet you with a smile every day. The food is amazing! Manual, at the Vina del Mar, greeted me every morning with my preferred start to the day, a cup of coffee and a Bloody Mary. Arturo, the manager at the Rosato Italian restaurant, made us his signature flaming coffee and Bananas Foster. That alone made us feel like VIP's! Aaron was awesome bringing us our beverages on the beach, always with a cheerful smile. The shows were great. The pace was relaxed. I cannot recommend Fiesta Americana Cozumel enough!

Room Tip: The higher floors have a better view of the water, but we had a view of a little tropical area and it was quite peaceful and quiet.

This resort is lovely and we had a lot of fun because we did absolutely nothing but sit by the pool or at the beach and read. We swam a little, ate and drank and took naps. It was SO stress free and relaxing....just what we needed! If you are looking for a resort with lots to do or even a walk-able beach this is not for you. The beach is rocky, but you can snorkel and the resort provides the equipment. They have a beach area for lounging and you do have access to the water, but there is not a long walk-able beach. There are representatives that can set up tours for you and if you get a chance visit the Eco-park, it was well worth it!

This was our 6th time staying at the Fiesta Americana and each time we go it just gets better - they up their game every year. Once again it's the employees you get to know that make it great. Arturo - the head waiter of the Italian restaurant goes above and beyond to make us feel special. Juan - bar tender at the pool bar is always good for some good conversation and lots of laughs. Aaron - the beach drink waiter is terrific. Always smiling and always running to keep the guests well hydrated!

The food just keeps getting better year after year. For an all inclusive resort, this is the best we have experienced and somehow they continue to raise the bar year after year. The shrimp tacos on the beach will leave you wanting to light up a cigarette - they are that good. The Italian restaurant is dining heaven. The duck and shrimp carbonara are some of the best food I've ever eaten anywhere!

The only minor issue we experienced was our room air conditioner. The thermostat was so sensitive that the unit would kick on at night and shut off frequently running only for a few seconds. This resulted in an annoying clicking that would sometimes keep you awake. Other than that minor nit pic, no complaints what so ever.

Something else to consider and REMEMBER - do not be a cheap entitled tourist. Tip the maids, bar tenders, food waiters frequently! These people work very hard ensuring you have a great vacation. We spent $10 - $20 per day on tips - sometimes only a dollar, sometimes 2, 5, 10. Tip regularly and you will be treated like GOLD. It always amazes me how many people you notice that never tip, but demand the royal treatment - these people need to be kicked in the nutz! Hand out those tips and see how good it really can be.
