We chose the Blue Angel Resort because of the consistently great reviews it has on TripAdvisor, and it exceeded our expectations. My wife and I fell in love with this little oceanside gem. You can wade right into the ocean or fall off the dock and go swimming or snorkeling. Our room was comfortable and well kept by Francisco, and the groundskeeper kept everything outdoors well manicured. The pool was cleaned daily and always in great shape. I read reviews about street noise, but since my wife always travels with a fan for some white noise to help her sleep, I always bring along ear plugs. It seems like the waitstaff knew us by name by our second visit to the restaurant, and during our ten-day stay we met Angelica, Alex (Alexandra), Damien, Alejandro, Sergio, and Sylvester (Stallone). Hope I didn't leave anyone out. We felt like we were treated more like family rather than customers. The bountiful breakfasts were included in the price of our room, which was already a great value. We enjoyed the Happy Hour snacks and two-for-one drinks frequently during our stay, and learned that we should probably just order one meal at dinner and split it, because neither of us could finish the generous portions. The professionally prepared meals were so good and reasonably priced that we ate all of our meals there, except when we were away on excursions. Some of the other pastimes we enjoyed were listening to the excellent guitarists after dinner, and I even took out the sea kayak one day. We enjoyed meeting people from Denver, San Antonio, Napa Valley in California, and a family from Calgary. I met three women who are expatriates from the U.S. who live in Cozumel, that just come by the Blue Angel to jump off their dock and get in their morning long distance swim. We even met a couple of kids who worked on a cruise ship that had been rerouted to Cozumel due to the hurricane damage elsewhere in the Caribbean. We took the El Cielo snorkeling tour on the Blue Angel dive boat, and it was an enjoyable bust. The seas were so rough, it was decided to abandon the idea of snorkeling on any reefs or even anchor at El Cielo, but Tony and the rest of the crew made the best of it for us and we all had a great time. You can't control the weather. There was a Mexican family on the boat with us, and we enjoyed meeting and dancing with them. The patriarch of the family was named Jesus. How great is that? Here we were vacationing in a heavenly place and even met Jesus. Wish we could have met Eva, but she was on vacation. Why anyone would want to vacation anywhere else is beyond me. We'll be coming back, and hopefully bring some friends with us.

Room Tip: The best ocean views are on the upper floors. If you have mobility issues, request the ground floor.

My last visit to Blue Angel was in August (third time this year) and I'm headed back 2 more times this year. The staff is great. For me, my Spanish is lousy, Melissa is a life saver.
The rooms are large and the beds are perfect.. They could use a little better lighting in the rooms.
Everything is clean and well kept.
It is now where I go if I'm headed to Cozumel to go diving.

Room Tip: Lower floor is the quietest.

We'll make sure we share the comment with Melissa too. She is a gem. In fact, she herself is on vacation in Mexico this week. We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to your quick return. Again thank you

Been coming to Cozumel for over 25 yrs and have stayed in many of the resorts (from north of town to the very southern point of island). If your here to dive, you can not find a better place to stay for the price, location, dive shop and overall experience. We like to "dive our tanks" (will not stay anywhere where this is not allowed) and if you make this clear to the DM's they will accommodate you. The DM's are helpful, reef-knowledgeable and friendly and will take you to the reefs you'd like to visit, in most cases. The shore dive (unlimited) is as good as any along this stretch with lots of small critters. Nitrox is available. Blue Angel is next to the Sting Ray pin so there's always those to look at. I've also seen eagle ray cruising right in front. Breakfast is included with the dive package and it is fantastic with a full array of items. Lunch/dinner are a little pricey (compared to downtown restaurants) but the choices are numerous and food is plentiful and prepared well. It's a 30+ min walk to town, a $6-$8 taxi (one way) or they have bikes to rent. Car rental personnel will come to the resort as well (drop off and pick up). My ac went out this last trip and they had it back online within an hour. All room face the water. The pool is small but nice with lots of shaded areas w/chairs. Rooms have patio, fridge, safe, phone and good tv w/adequate channels. Resort sits just a few feet off the street and I've seen comments about street noise, but I've stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors and never had an issue nor had anyone in our groups complain of it (had 14 in last group). I would not recommend this place for children (no kid programs or baby sitting) or those wanting to frequent town by walking. There are numerous all-inclusive resorts with kid activities all along the island and several within a 10-15 minute walk to town. There are places that have a bigger pool, all inclusive, nicer rooms, good dive shop and a good location, but taken all together, you can not beat the price/value you get with Blue Angel.

Thank you for your thorough review. We appreciate the time it takes to make these kind of comments with all the details. If it was OK with you we went ahead and published on Facebook. We value customers like yourself and we look forward to your return. Staying at that many resorts over the last 25 years I can only thank you for your compliments

Certainly can't beat the view. Pool and some really great snorkeling 20ft from your room. Restaurant was a little pricey, but very good. Staff was more than accommodating and super nice.
I'll be back for sure.
