I usually like to go on a vacation that is more self-directed. A place such as Sunscape Sabor has everything you need in one package. Being this was a group vacation it made it very easy. We could all do our own thing and meet at a certain restaurant for meals. Needing to plan was minimal. I had a very nice room near the quiet pool which was perfect. I had great views and the room was in very nice shape (building 34). The food and drinks were adequate and as expected for the price. There was free snorkeling equipment, use of kayaks, use of paddle boards, etc.
Service was excellent at the bars and restaurants and in room service.
All in all this was a simple easy-going vacation I would recommend this for a group of family or friends.

We just returned from our annual Cozumel dive trip and were surprised to find that the dock at the Secrets Aura just started charging for dive boat pickups. We've been staying at the Sabor because we can be picked up at the Aura dock by our preferred dive outfit. However, the Aura has just started charging dive operators for access to the dock and hasn't fully thought through how to make that work in a responsible way. Our operator has some valid concerns about how this is set up (lack of receipts, wanting to make sure the money is traceable) and won't be picking up there anymore--so we will find another place to stay next time. Too bad because overall we have a good time at the Sabor for the last few years. We've been bringing dive groups of 4 - 10 people down for diving.

Room Tip: Some 'tropical view' rooms have no outdoor space for sitting outside or for drying dive gear and are very dark and damp.

This was out 9th trip to Cozumel and have stayed here every time expect for once. Bellman, Juan Carlos Ku always greets us in a friendly manner and helps us to settle in quickly. If we need anything during our stay, he is right there to attend to our needs. The resort is neat and clean. The food is extraordinary!! We received and upgrade that included the Oceania restaurant and this by far was my favorite.

I was scheduled to stay at Sunscape Sabor and was upgraded to Secrets. Juan Carlos Ku took very good care of us. Adrian, the Social Concierge, was always very helpful and had a good sense of humor which was a necessity with our group. Ha! Ha! Miguel, the bartender at the swim-up bar, was very cordial and really took care of my wife and myself. He is to be commended. The room was immaculate and was much larger than I expected. The bathroom had plenty of room with a tub and a walk-in rain shower. The service was also excellent. The staff is hard working and always took care of all our needs. The Oceana Restaurant had excellent food and fantastic service. The Surf and Turf was out of this world.

We stayed six nights at the Sunscape Sabor for the Cozumel Ironman event. It's beachfront location and grounds give it a true Caribbean feel.
Check in was quick and efficient and, although we arrived at midday, we were given a room straight away. The rooms are basic and would benefit from more storage but being able to step straight out of the room onto a beautiful sandy beach dotted with palm trees was wonderful.
The pool was nice and there were always plenty of sun loungers free. The only issue was that the pool had it's own music, as did the restaurant next to the pool, as did the lobby, as did the bar next to the beach. Therefore if you were at any of these four locations you would be listening to at least two sources of music and more often than not, three!
The beach is stunning and spotlessly clean. The views at sunset are breath taking. The sea is full of life here and lots can be seen when snorkeling or making use of the free Hobie Cats from the beach. The entertainment team could be more proactive in arranging beach volleyball especially as so many guests were there for thier fitness. Once I had mentioned it to Geo from the entertainment team he was on the case, to his credit, and he arranged a few good games. Geo was excellent for his support for the Ironman event. He led the cheering and music and took a genuine interest in the guests that were competing. Both beach bars served good quality branded drinks. The bar staff members were awesome.
The food at all three of the restaurants was of excellent quality. It was really nice to eat and have a such a gorgeous ocean view at the Portofino restaurant. There were however queues to get seated for breakfast and dinner at all times. There were also long lines at the fresh omelette/egg stations. Both issues are attributed to staff numbers. The staff that were there were clearly rushed off their feet and were working so hard to do the best that they could. There was always plenty of choice.
The gym is superb offering a very good CV and resistance workout. There are plenty of machines, free weights and space. There is also a large studio but I didn't see any group workouts or classes.
There is free Internet in the lobby but it drops in and out. If you want Wi-Fi elsewhere you have to pay.
I would definitely stay here again for a short break.
