Decided to do an overnight stay to check out the island. Made reservations on their online website. Some confusion when we got their as to where our golf cart was that I also included in the reservation. Sergio fixed the problem and rented us one directly from him at the same rate.

Hotel room had very strong odor of mold and had no bath towels. Bed was very uncomfortable and many sounds throughout the night made it not a good night to sleep.

Had a very nice small pool and area was very secluded. Rate was good at $68 a night.

We are currently staying here..been at the resort for 4 days so far. Check in was fast. Our room is layed out perfectly. Pool is a great size for this resort that only has 16 rooms. Continental breakfast consist of great coffee or OJ, toast with butter & jelly and a huge fruit plate. Some days hubby & I shared one plate as we don't like to waste when so many people go hungry. We loved the location. If you go up the hill past Casa Caracoal...that's very rocky. We preferred to continue past the Garrafon and taking a short flat road into Villas Cocoa, We always tend to leave the resort so we rent a golf cart. They do belong to Captain Dulce Beach club which is down the road. Prior reviews said it didn't exist..well it DOES. Only disappointment would be the broken hot tub on the roof. Great value for the $$$

Room tip: Only 16 rooms so I don't think it matters. We have second level end unit.

They do not provide access to the beach, they do not have a beach club, you cannot use the grill (no bottles/hoses/propane) and if they get it fixed for you it costs $20 for them to clean even if you use aluminum foil pouches, they had sketchy wifi that needed 2 repairmen to fix, a/c units broke down and some visitors had to move, the hot tub on the roof did not work, the poolside bathroom was never cleaned in 10 days and the pool was dirty, another visitor's whirlpool tub pump burned up and they had to move...and worst of all, we could not reach anyone by phone or email after booking so didn't know if we actually had reservations until we arrived. My Discover card wouldn't work to pay, so had to use my Bank MasterCard and am very worried!

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights recently and absolutely loved it! If you are looking for a totally quiet and tranquil get away, this is the place. Capitan Dulche's beach resort is a short 10 minute walk away (however, you can arrange for a free golf cart ride there and/or back) and we were there for 4 out of our 8 days. There are a few fabulous restaurants within walking for lunch/supper, but a cab ride into the downtown area is only 200 pesos return, or centro is only 120 pesos return. You can also arrange for your golf cart pick up and drop off here. Rooms are huge and clean with lots of storage space, staff is friendly and helpful and we hope to return soon!

Loved this little out of the way place, and would not hesitate to stay again. The entire place is very clean and tidy. Nothing fancy, but serviceable and well kept. Room was spacious, and the A/C worked great. Hot water was endless. Pool was sparkling and clean, but too cold for this Texas girl! Breakfast was ok, presentation was pretty, but substance wise a little lacking. Fruit and toast, so enough to get you out and on your way! Internet was ok in room, and good In the lobby area. Hotel is located down a pretty rough road, which in my opinion, added to its charm. We were always laughing by time we reached the main road, but we are just that kind of people anyways!
Staff was pleasant but not overly friendly. Beds were quite hard, but we were so tired from our adventures we slept well. Hot water and water pressure was fantastic! No complaints here!

There are two restaurants that are close by, we did not get a chance to visit them. We were shuttled to the Captain Dulces beach club, and liked it there very much. However, when we called to get the hotel to come pick us up, like they offered, we ended up walking after waiting almost an hour for them to come. Wasn't a bad walk, and we certainly felt safe doing it.

Definitely the place to rent your golf cart. Prices are lower than in town.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!
