Villas Coco Resort

We stayed at Villas Coco for 4 nights. It was our honeymoon so I had got the room decorated beautifully at very nominal charges. The sea view from balcony is amazing, healthy fruit plate for breakfast, very neat and clean, decent internet speed and amazing jacuzzi bath tub. The bed mattress was very comforting, good toiletries. Very helpful staff.Already planned my next visit here. If you can tolerate way how Mexican interact, then this will be great place to stay in secluded island.

Cons:Not many cookware for microwave. So if you plan on carrying instant food that can be heated and eaten, do carry it with you. Before you check in hotel, buy big bottle of mineral water on the way as they usually run out of water.

We traveled in Feb 2015.

Room Tip: Ask for honeymoon decoration and you will love it.

Decided to do an overnight stay to check out the island. Made reservations on their online website. Some confusion when we got their as to where our golf cart was that I also included in the reservation. Sergio fixed the problem and rented us one directly from him at the same rate.

Hotel room had very strong odor of mold and had no bath towels. Bed was very uncomfortable and many sounds throughout the night made it not a good night to sleep.

Had a very nice small pool and area was very secluded. Rate was good at $68 a night.

We are currently staying here..been at the resort for 4 days so far. Check in was fast. Our room is layed out perfectly. Pool is a great size for this resort that only has 16 rooms. Continental breakfast consist of great coffee or OJ, toast with butter & jelly and a huge fruit plate. Some days hubby & I shared one plate as we don't like to waste when so many people go hungry. We loved the location. If you go up the hill past Casa Caracoal...that's very rocky. We preferred to continue past the Garrafon and taking a short flat road into Villas Cocoa, We always tend to leave the resort so we rent a golf cart. They do belong to Captain Dulce Beach club which is down the road. Prior reviews said it didn't exist..well it DOES. Only disappointment would be the broken hot tub on the roof. Great value for the $$$

Room Tip: Only 16 rooms so I don't think it matters. We have second level end unit.

They do not provide access to the beach, they do not have a beach club, you cannot use the grill (no bottles/hoses/propane) and if they get it fixed for you it costs $20 for them to clean even if you use aluminum foil pouches, they had sketchy wifi that needed 2 repairmen to fix, a/c units broke down and some visitors had to move, the hot tub on the roof did not work, the poolside bathroom was never cleaned in 10 days and the pool was dirty, another visitor's whirlpool tub pump burned up and they had to move...and worst of all, we could not reach anyone by phone or email after booking so didn't know if we actually had reservations until we arrived. My Discover card wouldn't work to pay, so had to use my Bank MasterCard and am very worried!

My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights recently and absolutely loved it! If you are looking for a totally quiet and tranquil get away, this is the place. Capitan Dulche's beach resort is a short 10 minute walk away (however, you can arrange for a free golf cart ride there and/or back) and we were there for 4 out of our 8 days. There are a few fabulous restaurants within walking for lunch/supper, but a cab ride into the downtown area is only 200 pesos return, or centro is only 120 pesos return. You can also arrange for your golf cart pick up and drop off here. Rooms are huge and clean with lots of storage space, staff is friendly and helpful and we hope to return soon!
