This is our third trip to The Gala Resort & we were saddened to learn that it has changed owners. About 70% of the (familiar) staff has left. As a result some of the old ambiance has gone, too.
We did not obtain access to our room until 5:00 p.m. despite the 3:00 p.m. check in time.
Our room was very clean with excellent maid service but was never quite cool enough.
Biting red ants were somewhat plentiful.
The food was quite good in all restaurants.
The waitstaff & baretenders were fabulous. Perhaps because we are "tippers?"
WILMA then arrived with all of her fury.
The Gala guests were very fortunate to NOT be relocated to a shelter. The staff did everything in their power to keep us safe & we were, despite dire accomodations for 75 hours.
