We were a family reunion with 43 people with the youngest at just under a year and the oldest at 88 years old. We had a large number of children and most families stayed in the Hacienda Junior Suites. This was a great place for the children because the swimming pool was just twenty feet from their rooms. During our stay, the first week of August, the resort was totally booked. We had no trouble booking the speciality restaurants. The food was great and everyone was able to enjoy the wide variety of food in the various restaurants. All of the staff members could not have been nicer. They all went out of their way everyday to make everyone feel special. To celebrate two birthdays we made reservations for 43 people in the Italian Restaurant. The staff did a terrific job in setting things up and they even baked a birthday cake for the party. The bar tenders did a great job of making fancy fruit drinks for both the children and the adults. Everyone thought the swimming pool with the swim-up bar was a special treat. The beach was fabulous with clean white sand. We were able to always get a beach chair with an umbrella for shade. A real bonus for everyone was the artificial reef just to the right of the Sandos Resort about 100 yards from shore. The reef was home to a wide variety of fish and everyone thought the snorkeling was great. You could go there anytime of day and see hundreds of fish. The best time to go is in the early morning when the sea is calm. We had no trouble booking the hobie-cat sailboats and everyone in our group enjoyed the sailing, especially in the late afternoon with the strong winds. Some members of our group booked scuba excursions to the South of the resort and others went to swim with the whale sharks at Isla Mujeres. In both cases the resort did a great job of setting up the trip. We could not say enough good things about the personnel (waiters, waittresses, chefs, chamber maids, bar tenders) that worked in the resort. I would like to give special thanks to Luis Gomez and Silje Sjolye, at the reception desk, for going out of their way to insure that our group of 43 were housed together. All in all the best vacation we ever had!

This hotel is very clean and meticulously mantained. Many gardens. The food is good, specially in breakfast buffet and some diner restaurants such as Asiana (Oriental food) and Brazilian Rodizio. The AC in rooms work wonderfully, not so in most of the restaurants.
The only problem is that the best rooms are far from the main pool and beach. You have to walk or wait a van to take you from one place to another, the distance is about 7-8 minutes walking.
Pillows are quite unconfortable.
If you want to have a wonderful time for less money, this is the place. You'll get luxury, comfort and a wonderful beach. The gym and spa are very good too.

We stayed at the Sandos Playacar for one week. We loved the "all inclusive" aspect!! Also, our Hacienda Junior Suite was very nice and spacious. Daily housekeeping was great!! The food was all great, especially the Lasagna at the Italian Restaurant!!! At the breakfast buffet, the cook will make you an omelet and if you don't ask for a small one, it will be BIG and DELICIOUS, with all of the contents you choose!!! The staff were all fantastic!! The beach is beautiful!! There was never any problem finding a place to relax by the pool!! Visitors were all very friendly!! The staff by the pool were constantly checking on us to make sure our drinks didn't run out!! Our coffemaker wouldn't work and they took care of it right away!! There were also shows on the outside patio area in the early evening, along with an assortment of snack foods continuously brought out on a couple of tables. The nightly shows at the theatre were also great!! Check in and check out was very easy and the staff again was very courteous!!! We went to Xcaret, which we booked at the resort, and it was great, especially the show at the end of the day!! (lots of walking). And we went to Chichen-Itza, which was also alot of walking, but worth it. If you go to Chichen-Itza, it it better to make your purchases with pesos if you are going to buy any items that the local people are selling. If anyone was at the Perfect Couple Show on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 and took photos or videorecording, please contact us at [---]. We participated and would like some copies!! Thanks!!

It was my first time in a South resort. I love the experience. Food was good, beach clean. Only problem, you have to wake up early to get a beach chair near some shade. Btu beside that, great, relaxing time.
