This was the 4th time we went to Zamas for lunch in 12 years or so. The setting was great as always. We have always been pleased with the taste and quality of the meals we had...but not this time. We have ordered pollo and arrachera tacos. We have been traveling all around Mexico, even backpacking so of course we went to all kinds of restaurants including some very low key and It has always been good. This was the very first time we couldn't eat what was served to us, both plates tasted really bad, there was a strange unidentified green mixture with the meat. The beef was also way overcooked, almost burned. We left our plates 2/3 full, nobody asked if there was a problem, service was average. On top of that it was the priciest meal we had on this trip, a total rip-off, 725 pesos for 2 tacos plates, 3 lemonades and a guacamole plate as appetizer. Needless to say we will never go back to Zamas.

Zamas has a fantastic location on the beach and real atmosphere. The service was good and food of high quality. Would definitely recommend it.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a recent visit. The waitress was very welcoming. The food was prepared fresh and we enjoyed eating on the beach. The cost of lunch was about 70 usd for 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 beers, 2 waters and 3 sodas. After we ate we were able to enjoy the beach and use the hotel chairs and palapas. The only negative is that, although the beach is beautiful, there is alot of trash on the beach.

Que Fresco is the restaurant at the Zamas resort which is located directly on the South Beach of Tulum. There are only 8 tables outside (under shade). Take your shoes off and feel the soft sand between your toes. Relax... have a drink (perhaps a Zamas Margarita or Michelada). Relax... order your meal. Relax... slowly enjoy your drink and meal at this cozy, little beachfront restaurant. Watch the waves crash upon the shore. The presentation is lovely and the food is tasty. Not cheap but the entire experience is worth the money.

Zamas is a small (maybe 12 tables that I saw) restaurant with beautiful ocean front views. You have dinner with your toes in the sand and the sound of the ocean in the background. Our waiters Miguel and Jorge were fantastic! Our two travel companions had been there for lunch the same day and asked the restaurant to reserve two fish (which my mom loves and it also based on availability because it's caught fresh daily). They saved it and cooked it the way we wanted- extra services that went above and beyond. The love music that night was supposed to be flamenco but it was more like swing. Still enjoyable to listen to though. The arrachera steak was tender and delicious. We would definitely come back here on another trip to Tulum, we highly recommend it.
