Visited today after an interesting, if wet visit to Stonehenge. When we arrived the pub was busy, but we had a warm welcome from the bar staff. We ordered lunch which arrived quite quickly and was very good - we had pies and mash/chips and ham, egg and chips. Good portion sizes and the pies were packed with meat and delicious gravy! Friendly service and lovely atmosphere...would recommend.

Ate here 2 nights whilst staying at the B&B over the road. Traditional pub with open fire and beams. Clearly the heart of the village with a landlord who is passionate about good food and the community around him.
There is obviously a lot of effort goes into producing seasonal dishes using local ingredients and the quality shines through.
Sunday lunch was lovely and the homemade cherry bakewell was amazing.
Overall a lovely pub serving very good food and drink

Thanks so much! We loved hosting you and are so glad you enjoyed your stay in the village, despite the snowy start! We love our pub and the community we serve and are delighted to hear that this comes through to people who don't live here too. We hope to welcome you back for Swanfest!

We reserved a table to eat here during our stay in the area on the basis of good TA reviews and we were not disappointed! Tucked away in a small village, it is a cosy pub that operates an 'order at the bar arrangement'. The staff were very attentive and I was always quickly spotted standing behind the groups socialising at the bar. Despite the arctic weather conditions outside, it was busy. The food was very good and the portion sizes robust. We would happily eat here again.

Best word ever to describe our portions!! Robust is certainly right! If you managed 3 courses, you are to be congratulated but we love our food and our customers tend to as well! Thanks for a lovely review, we're really pleased you enjoyed our village and all that we offer. We also really appreciate it when people comment on the staff as they work really hard to realise our dream and vision for the pub. Thanks.
