We arrived in Sac Carlos the week after the recent hurricane and many locations were closed for repairs. So we went to Blackie's twice...and enjoyed great service, a friendly atmosphere and wonderful food each time. Try their shrimp dishes for a well prepared and garlicky treat. I also had the sea bass with olives and capers .... Great!

Some of the wait staff have been there for years...and are all experienced at welcoming Americans and National alike. They also seem to do well with families and both nights we saw several larger groups that left with big smiles.

Oh yes, save room for dessert too!

Extremely quaint and intimate atmosphere. The shrimp au cream sauce I ordered was the absolute best meal I have ever had. 5 huge shrimp sautéed in a garlic cream sauce. To die for! My husband loved his steak and lobster! It was my son's almost 5th birthday and they sang to him with a flan with a candle. I wish we had a place like this in Tucson!

No matter what you order, it is all good. We love the Caesar Salad made right at the table. Beautiful atmosphere and artwork on the walls add to a very lovely dining experience. The servers are professional and very friendly. A little more expensive than some other restaurants but well worth it. A complementary Brandy Alexander for dessert is a pleasant end to a wonderful meal

While visiting friends, in San Carlos, we enjoyed some of the best Mexican food we've ever had, at Blackie's. Doesn't sound very Mexican does it? Not even a very "catchy" name. But, don't judge a book by its cover, right? Blackie's has a very inviting atmosphere, nice decor and pleasant dining music, but the food is the star. After a yummy appetizer, we had the grilled shrimp. The shrimp was fresh, and grilled to perfection. We also enjoyed outstanding margaritas with our meal. I thought the meal was over, but our friends asked our sever about the special, complimentary dessert. It is a small, but perfect ending to a fantastic meal ( so be sure to ask about it)!

Happened upon Blackie's because on a Wednesday night after 10pm, it was the ONLY restaurant in town that was open for business. They were thankfully open til 11. We arrived with 40 minutes to spare. The waiters were gracious, patient and kind in spite of our late arrival.
The margaritas were large and tasty. And the food(fajitas special) was outstanding. Their refried beans are amazing. The value for the meal we had was superb and I'd highly recommend eating there.
