“Best holiday home we've stayed in”
Reviewed 4 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Really peaceful, in a beautiful location. The fab pool, table tennis, wii and DVD means teens won't get bored (there is also a fantastic Go Ape type place 5 mins drive away which wore them out!).
We loved the really spacious rooms, that were finished to a top notch standard. The kitchen was amazing with every (literally) piece of equipment you could wish for.
Bev was a really welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble but she also kept a polite distance. (She is a good half a field away so the house is still private). Thanks for great holiday Bev!

“Highly recommended”

We had a wonderful week in this property. It looks good from the photos but am not sure that they do the house full justice! It was lovely, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. As a family of three generations we all enjoyed the facilities Oak Tree Cottage generously provided. We have stayed in many properties in France over the years and encountered many owners/hosts but I can honestly say that Bev surpassed them all. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Definitely put this high on your list of possible holiday rentals!

Liked best: More or less everything!
Liked least: The venue is pretty much in the middle of nowhere so make sure that works for you.

“Stunning remote location, private pool and luxurious and beautifully renovated barn conversion - simply wonderful!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were lucky enough to be the first guests of Oak Tree Cottage and found it to exceed all our expectations - a welcome relief after a long drive from Gloucestershire, UK! The owners were very friendly, always available and more than happy to help with any q's, but respectful of our privacy, too. The villa itself was luxuriously fitted, equipped with more items than we could need, (including essentials like toilet roll and hand wash) was clean, tidy and sympathetically renovated. All the beds are firm, very comfortable, clean and have beautiful linens. We slept in by accident every day!

The pool is one depth, has steps down into it, has a cover and alarm, sun loungers, parasols and an enormous outdoor dining table off to the side. The owners cleaned it early enough every morning, that they were out of sight before our morning dip. There are enough large, fluffy, thick towels supplied that you'll have enough to cover the sun loungers and dry everyone two or three times a day!

Outside, there is a large lawn, barbecue, small and shallow pond - with a couple of frogs! - patio with seating outside the kitchen, a small room accessed from outside with cushions for all outdoor seats, a few bikes, hosepipe and even a few pool toys.

If there is anything to suggest to prospective guests, it would be to pack eye masks. Some bedrooms have velux windows that are too high for curtains, so going to sleep before the sun sets is difficult, (especially for children). We always pack GroBlinds which helped in the twin room, but we couldn't reach the ones in the large double upstairs. The large double downstairs is at the rear of the property and darker. We have suggested fitted velux window blinds to the owned.

We would happily stay at Oak Tree Cottage again. Thank you.
